Christmas is less than 20 days away and we’re asking you to join us in making a pledge to shop local. Now more than ever, your local small businesses need your help. We are asking you to take a pledge to support local small businesses: Pledge to not shop Amazon or other online retailers not local to our community for (most) of your gifts this season. We know there are things that you can’t find in town and require you to shop online, even on Amazon. That’s not what we’re t...alking about. I mean the stocking stuffer and gifts from retailers, including gift certs to services (hair, nails, retail, oil change, food, dog groomers, video games, etc.) We have so many wonderful merchants in our area that are looking to provide you with a great holiday gift. We read a recent CNBC article showing Amazon’s sales were up 40% on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday https://www.cnbc.com//amazon-announces-black-friday-cyber-. It was a gut punch to read as we continue to adapt to all of the crazy changes (indoors, outdoors, 25% capacity, open, closed blah!!) and try to serve our community safely. So many of our fellow small business owners have been incredibly resilient in their efforts to endure this uncertain time and we applaud them Our ask today is this: Pledge today to finish off your shopping list by shopping local.
