Throwback Thursday Memories - 2003

Closing Our Doors! We are saddened to announce the Closing of Bay West Ballroom at the end of this month. We have been offered an opportunity to get out of our lease for new tenants, and have decided this is in our best long-term future. We thank all of our students and supporters who have stuck with us for 12 and a half years, making Bay West one of the most revered places to learn to dance. The calendar will continue unaffected until July 31st and then we will close the ...studio doors. Mark's Tango class will continue at Suzie's Studio from 1-2:30 pm on Saturdays. Class cards will still be honored there. Mark & Andrea will still be available for Private Instruction on other floor spaces within Marin County. We are very much looking forward to the opportunities being presented to us in this new chapter of life. Thanks Again, One and All!! You Have All Been The Best!! Allegro Ballroom Showcase 2015 Congratulations to all Bay West Students who danced with grace and power this past Saturday at the Allegro Ballroom's Summer Showcase 2015. Cathryn Johnson, Barbara Easterly, Peggy Toth, Ruth Morris, Wendy Liang and Amy Novak all gave exemplary performances that knocked the collective socks off the crowd in attendance. Studio Director, Mark Novak tied for first place with instructor Julio Paniagua as Top Teacher of the event. They will each ...receive half of the prize money for the achievement. Congrats to all!

Special Topics Professional Series - "Latin Over-Turns" w/ Mark & Andrea Novak (Saturday, June 13) On Saturday, June 13th, Bay West Ballroom proudly presents a Special Topics Workshop with Studio Directors'& Professional Dancers, Mark & Andrea Novak. In this seminar, dancers will learn how to over-turn common figures to heighten and advance their skill set and increase their knowledge of quality dancing. The workshop will run from 2-3:30 pm. In the course of the explorations we will utilize the forms of both Rumba (1st half of class) and Cha-Cha (2nd half) to understand and create the new possibilities. A great opportunity for serious Latin Dancers!

Country Western Two-Step Class & Country Swing Dance. TONIGHT!!! On Saturday evening, May 9th Bay West Ballroom presents a follow up to the Country Western Two-Step that was taught by Elizabeth Barrett in late Jan. Couples will learn all the basic actions and combinations to get themselves started. Class will run from 6-7 pm - with a one hour dance social that will follow from 7-8 pm. After Class we will dance to favorite cuts of Country and Swing Dancing.
