Bay Area Brain Bee 31.01.2021

We had 54 students compete in our 9th Annual Bay Area Brain Bee and they were all brilliant. We are honoring the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place students, and are sending the 1st place winner to the National Brain Bee. Congratulations to all the participants especially 1st place, Risha Chakraborty, 2nd place Aman Jain, and 3rd place Shivek Narang. And we wish luck to our first place winner as she competes on the national level.

Seeking volunteers to share neuroscience info with young people. Discovery Days in Hayward and in SF attract thousands of young people to inspire interest in science. I will have an exhibit on both dates, and will show people how their reflexes work, and share brain trivia. I would love some help, so please sign up for a slot in Hayward and/or SF. Both events are FREE. And you can help some time and have time to view the other exhibits. Please share far and wide to bring... young people to view, and some adults to help please. If any of you would like to help Prof. Jim Murray present brains and reflexes at the annual Science Festival at ATT Park, please sign up here. If you can help an hour or two, that leaves 4 h or more to view the other hundreds of exhibits. One goal is to recruit HS students to the Bay Area Brain Bee, in addition to educating folks about brain and nervous system.
