Students are invited to write a 90-second piece (200-250 words) in poetry or prose to share the history, significance, and/or personal meaning of the San Diego State University War Memorial. The winning entry will receive a $250 gift card to the bookstore and second and third place entries will each receive a $50 gift card. The winner will be asked to present their piece at this year’s virtual War Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony. As a featured speaker at this presti...gious community event, the winner will join key SDSU leaders, alum’s, and local community members in honoring the Aztecs who paid the ultimate price in the service of their country .
