The veggies are ready to pick. I have beets, string beans, small golden tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, corn and zucchini. I have plums and a few apricots. I have made apricot jam, pickled beets, peach jam, blackberry jam, bread and butter pickles and I am getting ready to make hamburger relish, more pickled beets, plum jam, and more bread and butter pickles. Some of the corn is ready to be picked so come by and get fresh picked corn. I should have red tomatoes in the next week or so. The chickens are slowing down a bit in their egg laying but we still have eggs every day. I have planted pumpkins which should be ripe in October. I will have pie pumpkins and jack-o-lantern pumpkins. Also, if you want pies for Thanksgiving, let me know.
Lilly and her new baby chick!
The weather is really nice and the chickens love nice weather. This is when they lay lots of eggs. Some of the eggs may be a little bit smaller than usual which is due in part to being new layers. I am still mixing the egg colors the eggs may range from white to dark brown with green and blue eggs too. The garden has been planted. Now it is just waiting for the veggies to grow. The plums are generally ripe in last June early July. If you are driving by, watch for the sign to say we have plums. The plum season is generally pretty short.
The hens are laying lots of eggs! $5 a dozen. Super fresh eggs!
My little helper lovn' on the young chickens.
Feel free to use our newly installed hand sanitizer. It's a Aloe vera + 91% alcohol mix fragranced with lovely lemongrass. It's motion activated so no need to touch a thing.

The hens are laying. Both refrigerators are full of eggs. Looking for fresh eggs, stop by on your way into Los Osos or on your way out of town. We are fixing to start the garden soon. The rain has brought lots of weeds, so they need to be tamed before we can start the garden.
It is salsa time at the farm.
Weeds are the one of the biggest chores on the farm but with new wood chips and weed barrier it will be slim pickings.
The farm is in full swing and roaring to life for the summer. Plenty of fresh vegetables and eggs popping up and out every day. Give us a call if you have any questions
