Hello Beth Ami Families We hope you are all doing well on this beautiful rainy day!Tonight is (virtual) OPEN HOUSEA video will be sent to you today on life in the classroom as well as a message from each room’s teachers. Also, just a friendly reminder that we do not have school tomorrow due to Professional Development, or Monday due to President’s Day. Have a great 4 day weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!

We LOVE getting our hands dirty at Beth Ami! Our friends get to explore using their hands which aids in processing emotions, information, and textures. Sensory activities also help us explore temperature, environment, and preference as they experience different textures. This week, our classes focused on slimey, dirt, cold, paint and cotton mixed together, and honey with birdseed! Looking forward to a great Shabbat!

As we prepare for Tu B’Shevat (the birthday of the fruit trees), children have been able to interact with trees in a variety of ways! Teachers have been providing many different natural materials for children to use for art, use in free play, as well as observe using magnifying glasses. Some classes have been climbing trees, some swing from the branches, and some have even gotten to paint a fallen branch to notice the different textures. We look forward to diving deeper into this holiday this week!

We are so glad to be back with our Beth Ami family! This year definitely has been a roller coaster, but we are grateful for our strong and resilient kehillah for helping us with unforeseen circumstances. Today, children were able to explore wind with different activities such as watching leaves blow with binoculars, making pinwheels spin, and building forts to create a safe space. We are looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!
