Your Districts CAL-PT-PAC Advocacy Chairperson This position includes a variety of activities designed to strengthen district and SIG (Special Interest Group) political fundraising and local grassroots activities. The role of the Advocacy Chairperson is to coordinate and participate in the implementation of CAL-PT-PAC and grassroots activities in support of the CPTA and the District/SIG. CAL-PT-PAC Ethics Course The CAL-PT-PAC Sponsored Ethics/Law Course is an opportunity for Districts/SIG (Special Interest Groups) to create a fundraising event with a benefit to members and potential members. The donations will be used to support legislators that share: an interest in the issues confronting the profession and the association; perspectives of what the association should be doing; and perspectives of how we can improve our effectiveness in the political environ...ment. This course will be a formal presentation by a member of the CPTA Ethics Professionalism Council or Quality Practice Committee. The hosting Districts/SIG and will determine the event format, such as topic the membership are most interesting in.
