BabySafe of Fresno is pleased to announce the success of our new online class with a short quiz in lieu of attending the required 3 hour class. This will allow us to provide free or low cost car seats to low income families. Please contact us at 559-432-2223 to determine eligibility in this program and sign up for the online class. You must live in Fresno County, be the parent of the child in need of a car seat and be low income. We look forward to helping parents and believe this is a good solution for our local moms and dads so they can safely acquire a car seat for their children without convening in a classroom. Spread the word to all families who need a car seat or booster seat for their child! Sincerely and with continued hand washing, [email protected]

BabySafe of Fresno has been recommending keeping children rear facing for 25 years. Way before the law in California changed requiring it to age 2. The law is just a minimum and not best practice. Worried about your child’s legs? Their legs are nothing to be concerned with! Protecting your child’s head, neck and spine is most important and that’s what rear facing for as long as possible accomplishes. BabySafe of Fresno offers low cost or free car seats for low income families that can accommodate a child rear facing to 40 lbs. Call us at 432-2223 to see if you are eligible. Or call us if you have car seat question. We are happy to help!

Having your child rear facing until age 2 is the law. But that is just the minimum allowable by law... Best practice is to keep your child rear facing for much longer (until they reach the weight limit or height limit allowable by the car seat manufacturer). BabySafe of Fresno provides convertible car seats that can accommodate a child rear facing to 40 lbs. for low income families. Want to see if you are eligible for this program? Call us at 432-2223.

4’9 is the average height of a 10 year old. Some children need a booster even longer to fit properly in the seat belt. Do you know what proper seat belt usage is for your child?
