Baby Root Farm 25.03.2021

Baby Root Farm is proud to work alongside @mcgrathfamilyfarm and share our knowledge and skill with the next generation of farmers. Want to know more about the people and farms that grow your food? Book one of our Saturday farm tours and learn about the past, present, and future of Southern California’s agriculture industry. During our tour, you’ll experience what it’s like to operate a small-scale micro farm in the middle of Camarillo and walk the fields with actual farmer...s. Tours begin Saturdays at 11am and last approximately 1-1.5 hours. For more information or to book a tour, please call (805) 340-2842 or email [email protected] Link to email in Bio #farmingforthefuture #agriculture #Organicfarming

The fields have been producing some incredible beauty this spring, including the wildflowers used to make this Haku Lei. These gorgeous headpieces are traditional to Hawaiian culture and were made for us by farmer Allana, who lived in Hawaii for several years. #QuuenOfTheGreens #BabyRootFarm #FlowerPower

Remember the Triple R’s red rover radishes? Well, it’s bath time for these bright red gems and with our slow-mo field cam, getting clean has never looked so good! #RedRoverRadish #SupportSmallFarms

Today we’re planting salad mix and romaine transplants on our micro-farm! Farmer Matt has been working hard and moving these starts from tray to soil. Stay tuned for scrumptious summer salads coming your way!

Hosted a tour for some awesome dairy farmers from Technikerschule Triesdorf school in Weidenbach, Germany. While they were here, we talked about our collaborative style of farming and shared some of the challenges we farmers face. It is humbling to be reminded that halfway across the world farmers are facing some of the same challenges that we see here in California. As a thank you, they brought us this beer and stein, which looks pretty good posing in our fields! Cheers to new friends and international farmers!
