Empowering A Hero; meet Soretta Beard, AKA Amazon, CPT- 1 Certified Phlebotomist Technician and a Healthcare Screener. When Covid-19 was considered a Pandemic, I went into action. Amazon was assigned to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center as a Phlebotomist where she collected multiple specimens for laboratory testing. For the past 5 months she has been conducting Healthcare screening for Covid-19. Having felt the brunt of a pandemic and urgency of health care, Amazon wa...s inspired to pursue an expanded career in the medical field. It was with the help of AyZar Outreach that she enrolled in the Sterilization Processing Technician School, whereupon completion she would have the opportunity to work at a Medical Center, affording her better salary as well as further growth opportunities. Amazon has expressed her gratitude towards the non-profit with kind words, I truly thank AyZar Project for giving me this opportunity to grow in my Medical Profession. A little inspiration to get your week started!

Having overcome years of addiction and homelessness, Vanessa, a single mother of four, has been doing her best to keep her family afloat. She began working three jobs and was able to get her own place, but her situation seemed unsustainable and hopeless. She reached out to WHW, a non-profit organization and an AyZar Outreach partner, who encouraged her to become a sterile processing technician through training at Martinson College. It was a good fit for Vanessa’s long term a...spirations and gateway to a great job market in the medical field. Vanessa began program, her tuition funded by AyZar Outreach and UpSkill of United Way. Her exemplary completion of the program led her to the next required step: 240 hours of unpaid externship. Vanessa was placed at UCI’s Gavin Herbert Eye Institute for her externship, and AyZar Outreach paid her for hours worked so she could continue to support her family as she earned her certification. Vanessa now has a full time job as a sterile technician at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. If it wasn't for AyZar Outreach believing in me and helping me I would not be where I'm at today. I now have a job in my field and I actually see a future for my kids and myself. The struggle I went through in life may have been hard, but my future is now bright. See more

This candidate has received extensive training in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements at AyZar Inc. and is proficient in Quickbooks and Yardi accounting software.
