Return to Play Update... The current situation is fields have been opened for individual drills and conditioning where 6 feet of spacing can be maintained. We CAN NOT conduct a scrimmage or play organized games. In an effort to minimize the probability of another season cancellation and incurring any monetary outlay from our families, AYSO Region 41 is remaining paused until the guidelines of Phase 3 of AYSO National's Return to Play guidelines are achieved. Phase 3 will al...low for scrimmages and organized games. It is our belief that most of the kids are not going to enjoy individual drills and conditioning without the promise of a game each week. When we can be reasonably assured that we are permitted to hold scrimmages and games, we will start forming teams based on the availability of volunteers and registered players. For now, we encourage you to sign up on our wait-list so we are able to estimate the number of teams we can form and the number of coaches and volunteers we will need to support the teams. Remember that the Return to Play guidelines for both CalSouth (club teams) and AYSO are the same, outlined to keep players and volunteers safe. Registration will begin as a wait-list for everyone (except 4U-6U, which will be managed by UK International with a start date of September 12th). When we are reasonably assured of being able to move ahead with games and scrimmages, everyone will be emailed about paying the registration fees. Players who have family members volunteering are guaranteed a place on a team, from that point players will be assigned in the order in which they are registered. At this time, we are working with UK International to provide weekly training sessions on Friday evenings for all interested families (7U-14U). These sessions are offered at a fee but not part of any registration cost. Kids are assigned a coach and they are trained on individual skills and conditioning, all while maintaining recommended distancing. The 4U-6U (2015-2017) Program will be managed by UK International Soccer and will begin on September 12th. After the success of our Friday Night Skills Academy, hosted by UK International Soccer, we are delighted to announce that we are going to repeat the program for SEVEN WEEKS! The turnouts have been amazing and we are looking forward to continuing this program through to the end of the fall season. Due to COVID-19, there are still protocols that must be followed in order to run. Currently, Southern California is in Phase 1 of ‘Return to Play’, meaning the practices continue to... implement social distancing throughout, with limited-sized groups. We are hoping that Phase 2 will occur very soon, so we are able to start implementing small-sided games into our sessions. Regardless of which phase we are in, the professional and international will be able to provide an educational and fun experience for all players and we would like to invite all AYSO Region 41 families to participate.
