A peek into the process of our Axis Alfresco pop up Classical Pilates and Gyrotonic outdoor studio. Since the July 13 second closure of fitness facilities in California, we have been taking the studio outside. We are lucky to be able to do this in our beautiful Long Beach neighborhood of Naples. Today we temporarily closed the doors to Axis, until further notice. The LA County Health Department has mandated it for now to protect the health of our community. It has been so hard to do. I love the studio, our clients, and our teachers. Every day I feel incredibly lucky to do and share what I love, and I know all of our teachers feel the same way. However, we must look for the positive and be hopeful. We are transitioning to virtual lessons until we can reopen our doors. We are so lucky to have Nicole Marcione guest teaching at Axis while Chris is on his Baja journey! Nicole has been teaching since 2005. She has a Ph.D. from the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. Her research focused on mind-body exercise effects on gait and cognition in older adults. Nicole trained at the Pilates Center of Boulder, completing the Advanced Teaching Program and Masters Program.
