Reposting from AVMS power outage update #2 Dear Falcon Families, Thank you so much for your patience today during our power outage and early release process. I know picking up each student one by one is time consuming, but it is important to account for each and every student. Our staff and students did an amazing job following the procedures and working through any issues that arose. Any time we have to do an early release, which requires checking identification for every pa...rent or legal guardian, it takes time. As always, we will reflect on our experience today and debrief as a staff to be even more prepared for any potential disruption of the school day. We are grateful for the timely response of our Maintenance and Operations department, Transportation department, Food services (they were able to provide food to students for break and lunch) and other district supports. Our Maintenance and Operations department has identified the issue and has our power back up and running. Have a great three day weekend! Sincerely, Principal Steinert

From The City of Aliso Viejo: Access to AVMS using Windsong The City will be repairing the sinkhole on Windsong beginning today at 9:00am. Due to the size of the repairs, Windsong will be closed to thru traffic around the area of the sink hole until the repairs are completed. Access to the school will still be available from Aliso Viejo Parkway=>Cedarbrook. ... As of 1:30, half way down Windsong is closed. People are making U turns and driving back up.

We wish all our members a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving! Thank you for all that you do for our children and our schools, we appreciate you all year long,... but during this time of gratitude we realize we have much to be thankful for. Thank you for facing the challenges covid has brought and adapting to the changes to keep our PTAs relevant. Thank you to our teachers for all the extra work that online teaching has required of you, and for rising to the challenge and doing the best for your students every day. Thank you to our students for working hard to learn in this new paradigm. And thank you to the families who are supporting our PTAs even when they can't be on campus and in the classes like usual. ¡Deseamos a todos nuestros miembros un Día de Acción de Gracias muy feliz y saludable! Gracias por todo lo que hacen por nuestros niños y nuestras escuelas, los apreciamos durante todo el año, pero durante este tiempo de gratitud nos damos cuenta de que tenemos mucho que agradecer. Gracias por enfrentar los desafíos que ha traído covid y adaptarse a los cambios para mantener la relevancia de nuestras PTA. Gracias a nuestros maestros por todo el trabajo adicional que la enseñanza en línea les ha requerido, y por enfrentar el desafío y hacer lo mejor para sus estudiantes todos los días.
