Q: If you have purchased a new or used vehicle that is covered by the manufacturer's warranty and are having problems with it, when should you take it to the dealership service department for repair? A: You should take your vehicle in as soon as you believe there is a problem. (Check engine light or other dash warning light comes on, vehicle is not accelerating correctly, engine is shutting off, etc.) Under California lemon law, when the manufacturer buys back your vehicle..., they are entitled to a "mileage offset" that is calculated using the miles on your odometer as of the very first time you submitted the vehicle for repair of the problem that eventually leads to them buying it back. The earlier you take it in, the less money the manufacturer gets to keep when you get reimbursed for your vehicle. The difference between taking your car in at 2,000 miles versus 20,000 miles can amount to thousands of dollars. Additionally, when you take your vehicle in, make sure that the dealership notes your complaints in writing on their invoice and repair order. Review any paperwork that they hand you and ask them to make additions or corrections if they left anything out or reported your complaints incorrectly. This may eliminate confusion later on as to how many miles were on your vehicle when your first visit occurred and what the first problem was. If you believe your vehicle might be a lemon, give us a call at (661) 285-3666 for a free consultation. And please keep in mind that your attorney’s fees will be paid by the manufacturer if they buy back your vehicle.
Those who park far out in the lot to avoid vehicle damage will appreciate this guy! Hilarious! https://www.facebook.com/carthrottle/videos/1675589705785406/?autoplay_reason=all_page_organic_allowed&video_container_type=0&video_creator_product_type=2&app_id=2392950137&live_video_guests=0

Have you ever felt that you'd have better luck fixing your car yourself by watching YouTube videos than taking it into the dealership? If you are having trouble getting your new or used car fixed correctly under the manufacturer warranty, give us a call at (661) 285-3666 or visit us at avlemonlaw.com
Good Morning, Everybody! As a reminder to those of you who think you might have purchased a lemon, here are some thoughts regarding record keeping. Each time you take your car in for repair under warranty, please make sure the dealership service writer documents all of your complaints on each visit, even if they are unable to "duplicate" them. Please make sure they give you paperwork every single time you take it in, and kindly proof read what they've written to make sure they've documented everything that you told them. Finally, keep your invoices and repair orders in a safe place with your purchase contract so that your evidence is available should you need to bring a lemon law claim. Thanks and have an excellent day!
