Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Mark Duarte and Brad Shechtman headed out to Goya Foods to pick up a donation of canned food for the Dia de los Muertos Celebration on Sunday. Thanks to Oralia and Jessica of Goya Foods for making this possible! Over 3000 pounds was donated. Also a thank you to Palmdale Councilman Austin Bishop and Ramon De La Cruz of Nova Storage for donations and helping unload. Also thanks to Office Manager Liz Medina and her dad, Bernabe for helping unload.

The Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce participated in a ribbon cutting for Chaparral Prep Academy. Principal Roxanne Dashti welcomed the guests. Certificates were given by Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer and Councilman Juan Carrillo, Assemblyman Tom Lackey, and representatives for Senator Scott Wilk, Congressman Mike Garcia and The AV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The School is the latest in student centered school design. It will give hands on learning and tech support for creating data. The campus was given a total makeover.

A Ribbon Cutting was done for the new Markerspace at Desert Rose Elementary. It is a place where students can get information on many different subjects on mechanics and engineering, math and science. Attendees included Senator Scott Wilk, Assemblyman Tom Lackey and Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer. Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Angela Allen and Ruben Galindo presented a certificate.
