Good information for those pet owners who use/ diffuse essential oils:

Antelope Valley Animal Hospital 18.12.2020

Vaccine Clinic tonight 6-7:30. Best to come later rather than earlier as you’ll have less wait time. One person per pet and we’re limiting the number of people inside ( including staff) the Hospital for everyone’s safety.

We will have reduced hours, and no Vaccine Clinic, this Wednesday so that our hardworking team may enjoy Thanksgiving with their families. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Update: this owl is going home! They don’t all bark or purr. Sometimes, they screech. Regardless, we’re here when they need help. Happy to report that she has no lead, no broken bones and no secondary poisoning. She’s been transferred to an appropriate facility and will, hopefully, soon be released back where she came from.

Thanks to all who answered our plea! We’re back in the black where newspapers are concerned. We appreciate you! Our techs have put out a plea for newspaper. We’re running low and use a good bit of it. If you have any that you’d like to rehome, we’re looking and would be most grateful.

The freshening continues. We are so grateful that these three team members took time out of their weekend to help us. Thank you Evelyn, Rachel and Victoria. We couldn’t have done it without you!

It’s Vet Tech Week. Techs are the nurses of the Animal Hospital world. Often not seen, they are the ones assisting the Drs., providing treatments and administering medication, monitoring patients, cleaning runs and cages, comforting patients, etc..... We are so fortunate to have an incredible hospital team, those seen and not seen, and we very much appreciate them all!

Vaccine Clinic tonight 6ish- 7:30. Another hot day in the A.V.. Please remember that cement and asphalt retain heat. We cannot start our clinic until the day’s appointments are finished and the Hospital is readied for the following day. There is no need to show up at 5:30 as it just means a longer wait time in the heat and on your pet’s feet. If you require special assistance, we ask that you come later rather than at the beginning so that we can best serve everyone in a timely and safe manner. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Vaccine Clinic tonight 6ish - 7:30. A reminder that we must finish with appointments for the day and ready the Hospital for tomorrow before clinic can begin ( we haven’t started on time for months) . We encourage you to come later rather than early. Parking is better and wait times are less. One person per pet. We look forward to seeing you and your pet this evening.

We understand that everyone is stressed. We understand that a sick or injured pet adds extra stress. For months, our team has been doing an extraordinary job under stressful conditions. They have stayed professional and upbeat while doing so. We understand that you may experience longer wait times. With the guidelines that have been set forth, things just take longer. Rest assured that your pet will receive the same care and concern as the pet being seen before yours, and the pet being seen after yours. We ask for your patience and your understanding when interacting with our staff.

Vaccine Clinic tonight. While we technically schedule it from 6-7:30, we very rarely begin at 6. Appointments need to be completed and the Hospital readied for the next day before we can begin. That said, those who come early have the longest wait time. It will be hot again today. That includes pavement and cement. We do the best that we can, while adhering to the guidelines that we all must follow, so please plan accordingly.

Oakley was adopted from the Lancaster Shelter in March, three days before the Shelters closed. He was quite ill and spent 16 days in the Hospital recovering. In that time, he rapidly became as fond of everypawdy as they became of him. One question always remained: exactly what was he besides Lab....? Yesterday, we got our answers. Our own Dr. Lennox hosted Oakley’s Breed Reveal Pawty. Our boy was surrounded by his many furends as results were revealed. We’d like to thank Cali Cafe for our wonderful lunch, Bake With Heart RR for the yummy and beautiful cookies, Officer Hayhurst from the Lancaster Shelter, Dr. Lennox, our caring Team, the furends who interrupted their day to join us and our creative Evelyn who filmed and edited the video. We appreciate you all!

Quality of care has always been, and will always be, our first and foremost priority. With that said, we all need a little freshening up now and then. You may have noticed some changes taking place around here. We are thankful to have a team that is committed to providing a comfortable and inviting space for you and your pet while you’re with us. These two are an integral part of the team. You may have met Lucy and Evelyn during a visit. Both showed up on their day off to help out. Not only are they both treasured for their dedication and hard work, they’re funny, (really funny), as well. We appreciate them and thank them for being there for all of us.
