We are still open and operating under normal business hours during this wave of shut-downs. We are however experiencing very high call and vehicle volumes and are still booking approximately a week out for standard services and jobs, respectively. Unfortunately, our classic and vintage department is currently closed for intake and our waitlist is full due to excessive workload and difficulties receiving parts. Please check back on our website for a change in status of these ...type of vehicles. Please do not call inquiring about classic and vintage services as we can no longer give estimates or add to the waitlist for these vehicles. We are continuing to take every precaution possible to screen our employees health, take safety measures, and cleanliness operations. We ask that if you or someone in the household is showing symptoms or has come into contact with a positive testing person that you refrain from our services or reschedule at a later date. Please call our office at 292-2028 should you have questions about procedures or safety protocols.

This Chevron in North Fork caught my eye for two reasons. 1. They’re staying open for first responders. When I asked if they were scared to stay behind, despit...e evacuation orders, they said, we want to help the people helping our community. If we can make their job just a little bit easier by keeping gas, water, snacks and coffee closer to them, then we will. They’re even giving free coffee to first responders. 2. They have a beautiful 9/11 memorial. Each name is a local military hero. They’ve even saved art work collected over the years. A beautiful tribute to see on such a somber day. Thank you to the men and women that serve our country and protect our freedom. #thankyou #heroes #military #memorial #911 #911memorial #firstreponders #creekfire

If you are displaced by the Creek fire or an active first responder or community volunteer to the fire, we are offering free pickup/drop-off as well as priority service to get you your vehicle back as soon as possible. We wish we could offer more to our suffering mountain communities. #prayforoursierras

It is a catalytic converter, pronounced cat-uh-lit-ick, not a Cadillac converter. Unfortunately science has yet to convert any vehicle into a Cadillac. It is a catalytic converter, pronounced cat-uh-lit-ick, not a Cadillac converter. Just a quick informational post about your vehicle’s A/C system We get A LOT of calls in the summer of people asking to just service the A/C or just charge the A/C. This is a very common and old misconception about how these systems work and how the CA EPA board has since changed. Back in the day, most systems ran on R12 refrigerant which is a denser gas than the standard R134a and 1234yf used today. R12 was cheap (about $2 a can if that) and no one cared about the env...ironmental effects of this gas leaking from the system. Most people would just charge every season and call it good. California (and almost every other state) has since noted the effects of this gas and has considered it to be a harmful polluter. If your A/C system is not cold or not as cold as it used to be, there is a leak somewhere in the system. This is a completely self-contained system, so no cold = leaking or failed component. We cannot, by CA EPA law, just charge up the system if there is a known leak as it will just leak right back out. Our A/C machines have to be certified and our technicians have to undergo special classes and get special licenses in order to work with these gasses. R12 has since become very expensive and very hard to come by, and the newest refrigerant (1234yf) is also quite expensive and requires elaborate and expensive equipment. We hope to bring this to light and inform everyone about how they’re systems actually function, frankly the $99 A/C service special is just a ploy to get you in the door or a bandaid on the actual situation which will comeback or get worse. Good repairs aren’t cheap and cheap repairs aren’t good!

Hey everyone, We, just like everyone else in the area I’m sure, are getting the calls from PG&E about the possibility of rolling blackouts and planned outages. While we have a backup system in place to keep our computers and phones functioning, we do not have power backups for our heavier use tools in the shop, A/C units, fans, etc. In the event of total power loss and due to the extreme heat conditions, we will have to send our employees home causing obvious delays in produ...ction. We hope that it does not come to this but we want to prepare those with vehicles currently in the shop in case it does. Thanks all

We are still categorized as an essential business during this next wave of shutdowns and will continue to be open and operating. We are very thankful to be open and to continue to serve our community, but we are experiencing an overwhelming amount of calls and appointments during this time. We are doing our best to accommodate and get everyone taken care of in a timely manner, but this has resulted in longer than normal turn-around times for us. We know you're tired of heari...ng "due to COVID-19" for delays just as we are. We're having a harder time getting parts, getting in contact with suppliers, and getting freight items in a timely manner. We are getting an overwhelming number of calls for appointments and estimates in both our everyday and classic vehicles and our technicians and service writers are non-stop trying to keep up with demand. We are currently booking appointments nearly a week out and have moved all of our classic vehicle appointments to stand-by status. As many of you know, this is not our typical way. We know that these are uncertain times and we are trying to keep it as normal as possible for our customers. We appreciate your patience and understanding, we are trying to keep our heads above water too. Thanks, -- Auto House of Clovis staff
