I think this article helps us understand ourselves in a way that can be really empowering, especially when we start to think about the car buying experience through to the car owning experience of our daily lives. When you’re going into making a purchase that’s likely the second largest purchase or lease that you’re paying in your life, I believe it’s important to create safety for our nervous system‘s during the car buying process. And part of that, is knowing what our core ...fulfillment emotional states can look like. And I think this study from @harvard_business_review can help us navigate how we cultivate safety and fulfillment in both the buying and owning/leasing experience. So, before you embark on your next car buying/leasing process, do a little reflection on these buying motivations while (or even before) you start looking at the feature/benefit of the car. And if you want help with that we’re here. See more

I watched the @simonsinek @ted talk again - he teaches us about the limbic system and how it impacts the buying experience of @apple products in a positive way; customers are ultimately buying the why that @apple puts out there. Conversely, many of us have experienced negative buying outcomes from that same limbic system’s (aka emotional brain) activation at the car dealership. You are not alone. And, it doesn’t have to be that way keeping your sense of safety in the car buying experience is possible. I’m here to help. Comment below if you have a story to share about how your limbic system has affected your car buying experience negatively, to help us bring awareness and healing to this industry! #bethechange #bethechangeyouwanttosee

TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 30: Today is the last day of this 30 day challenge - I honestly can’t believe how this process FLEW by, and there is SO much more to share!! For DAY 30, I’ve been saving the #1 question that I hear from all new clients: how much does it cost to work with you? Variations of this question sound like, But, I don’t want to get a fancy car, so I probably don’t need to work with a Broker. Taking a psychology approach to this, what these questions are really ...asking is: what you’re saying sounds great, but there has to be a catch, because my past has shown me that things that are too good to be true, usually are. AKA, what you’re offering is probably not possible for me. What i’m here to share with you is: YES, this process, service, transparency, experience is ALL absolutely possible for you. Whether you’re buying a Kia or a Ferrari - we are here to help. The way Brokers are compensated for their time is through a sales commission that is paid from the dealership, NOT the customer. This is how we are typically able to beat individual customer pricing--we are negotiating on your behalf, at scale (aka multiple customers at a time). We are here to educate you on the process, and your options, if that’s how involved you want to be. Or, if you’re more of a convenience enthusiast - we are here to help take this entire time-suck off your plate. And, for that work, our team is compensated by the dealerships from a budget that they have for Broker Commissions, that’s separate from the price YOU, the customer, is paying. Let us work for you, and let the dealerships pay us for our time. This is how we can come together to change the car buying eco-system and experience as a whole. Thank you for your support through this challenge. Your engagement inspires our team to continue delivering you value! Stay tuned for the next one... . . #newcar #newride #knowyourworth#knowledge #truth #carbuyingtips#endingbs #themoreyouknow

TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 29: The most common question we get from customers is: how can I get the best deal? The honest answer is: be clear about prioritizing your objectives. We have uncovered a LOT of the dealership secrets over the last 28 days, so I think we can start pulling together this information to answer the question of how to get the best deal. Our recommendation for clients is to be clear about how they prioritize each of these key objectives: Defined Budget, p...urchase/lease Timeline, ideal Vehicle options. We recently had a returning customer who is looking to switch from a Toyota to a Honda lease. They thought that their #1 priority is budget. We were able to find them the exact car (with their ideal options) under their budget goal, quickly. However, when it came time to move forward, they realized that in fact, Timeline was their #1 priority. They would rather sacrifice the best deal, for the exact car they want, in order to wait till the month that their current lease ends (versus moving forward now, which would be 1 month early). Waiting another month puts their Budget goal at risk (since we know that incentives and offers change each month), AND, it puts their ideal vehicle options at risk (since we know that inventory on exact options can be inconsistent). As a partner, we will do our best to service our customer’s objectives. And, in cases like this, where we can add the most value is to be a clear support system in helping a customer prioritize the 3 objectives accurately, such that, we find deal opportunities that allow them to get all 3 objectives met. By approaching the car buying process this way, our customers win more, and sacrifice less!! Double click this post to like it! Comment your top 3 priorities for your next car - we would love to hear from you! Any other questions you have, post them here - we won’t hold anything back! . . . . #newcar #newride #knowyourworth#knowledge #truth #carbuyingtips#endingbs #themoreyouknow

TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 27: How can NO be a good thing to hear from a dealership? Well, it turns out one of the latest trends in pre-owned vehicles is a NO negotiating pricing model. Due to the level of reconditioning that places like Carmax or large groups like Autonation or Sonic will do on their pre-owned/used vehicles, they are saying to the market, we know the value of this vehicle, and we are sticking to it. While this may feel like a less-than-awesome price fixing on ...the part of a dealer, there is actually some relief in knowing that the price to value ratio is not reflective of your negotiating skills - there are no tricks here - just a price and a car. BUT! (and there’s always a but) this is also when relationships CAN matter. While there is no negotiating on these cars, I want to take you back to the post from yesterday (Day 26), when DEALER TRADES can, in some cases, bring back negotiating leverage. What I want to be explicit about is that there is opportunity in all of the options, and what’s important is that you pick the best fit option for you! If you want help, as always, we’re here. Double click this post to like it! Comment below if you have bought a car with a fixed price, and/or how does fixed pricing make you feel? TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 25: Bad credit? No problem --these types of ads are strange to me. In 4 words, i feel like it’s saying something deceivingly optimistic, with an underlying con built into the offer. When it comes to car leasing/buying, it’s surprisingly same-same, but different. It’s the same (aka deceivingly optimistic), because a car is a depreciating asset, 99% of the time. So, going into debt for a depreciating asset doesn’t make logical financial sense; but of co...urse, it makes logical psychological/emotional sense for many reasons, often rooted in culture and your relationship with yourself. However, where it’s DIFFERENT is in how your bad credit can play out for you. For the bad credit, no problem offer, you’re likely finding yourself in a worse debt scenario. But, in the case of dealership finance departments, there is a possibility for you to use your relationships to get favorable treatment from the underwriter. To clarify, there are 7-tiers of credit scores. If you’re in the top tier, you can get the best deal, and the best payment. If you’re not, you will be paying more. However, the #truth is that if you have a good broker or a close relationship with your dealer rep (and, i’m talking blood-related family), there is a small possibility that the underwriter at the dealership can bump you up 1 tier to get you a better rate. It’s not a guarantee, but a loophole that I wanted to share today, since it’s been my commitment to tell the #truth for this project. So guys, there it is! And, as always, if you want help with this, click the link in the bio to email or call us! We have your back! Double click this post to like it! TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 24: When someone says the car has been pro packed do you know what that means? For some reason this reminded me of the craft cocktail movement that’s been happening in hospitality and restaurants in the last decade. I am so impressed with how creative mixology has gotten, but with that, we are all paying premiums for drinks that we don’t always want. Smoked glass? $20 for that drink. Foam float? That will be $18. I am a big fan of what places like @the...alineagroup are doing for the culinary experience. It’s truly something special - and, what i love even more is that they’re honest about who they are, and what you can expect from them. Pro packing a car is like going to the bar wanting a vodka soda, but, they make you this really beautiful concoction that you didn’t order, then charged you double for it without telling you. Putting it into car buying terms, what happens is: a dealer gets a car from the manufacturer, and they start adding on all kinds of things (e.g. 3M film treatments, splash guards, a low jack security system, etc). Then, they sell it to you at the negotiated price, but at the last minute, you see these fees (ranging from $150-$600) for the pro pack modifications. While these are great additions, they aren’t something you asked for, nor are you expecting to pay for them. And, by the way, this fee is usually 4x’s what the dealer paid for the additions to be put on there.

TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 23: Have you ever found yourself doing a regular, mundane life task, and thinking - isn’t it 2019, there has to be a better way?!. I have some good news and bad news for you. The good news is that YES, for most things there IS a better way. But, the bad news is that it’s ultimately up to you to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there. How does this apply to buying a car? Well, in fact, this goes back to the whole, buying with someone ...you #trust that i’m sure you think i’ve been a broken record about - but it really this is the #key . The better way to buying a car is to use someone you trust, and if you don’t have an existing and accessible resource for that, well, I’m here (and happy to provide you with past customer referrals). Or, (and this might sound obvious), ask 5 of your closest friends who they got their car from and what that experience was like. The one who had a phenomenal experience likely worked with someone who made them feel valued, and listened to. That is always the right answer - work with people who treat you as their priority, and who make it their business to serve your best interest. When it comes to buying a car, you are not alone, you are not a victim to the current market, and there IS a better way!! TRUTH CHALLENGE | DAY 22: The #truth is that we live in a world of abundance. What that means is, despite realities of economy (aka supply & demand), when it comes to cultivating a feeling, specifically from a car lease/purchase, the universe is abundant. The reason why this is good news is, this means that the right opportunities are always available to us if we just look for it, and then take the action necessary to seize it (aka show up for that opportunity). Today, we ...had a client that reminded me of this reality when they finally were ready to close the deal on the car they were looking for. They found us on Yelp, reached out with very specific deal parameters: hard top Jeep convertible, leather heated seats, black on black. Incredible car - super low inventory. We were able to find them 3 cars that fit the bill, mostly (only 1 of 3 had the heated seats). Each time, when we found the car, the client took 3 days to decide yes, only to learn that the car had already been sold. Finally, today, we found the 4th car that checked ALL the boxes. Lesson learned: When shopping for a car, the universe is ABUNDANT! The first 3 cars that were almosts felt like losses at the time, but turned out to be blessings in disguise to finally land the exact specs the client was looking for. If you or a friend run into a mental block with how hard it might be to find the car you’re looking for at the right price through this process, we’re here to help.
