The ACC Task Force for Historically Underrepresented Students is delighted to announce the Autism and Communication Center Scholarship for Students of Color. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide up to $300 in funding to students of color on the spectrum so that they may participate in an organized activity focused on developing educationa...l and/or communication skills. The ACC Task Force for Historically Underrepresented Students is delighted to announce the Autism and Communication Center Scholarship for Students of Color. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide up to $300 in funding to students of color on the spectrum so that they may participate in an organized activity focused on developing educational and/or communication skills. These activities include, but are not limited to, communication workshops, online educational class...es, or coaching sessions with a speech language pathologist or educator who is trained in augmentative and alternative communication. Eligible students are those who are 1) diagnosed with autism, and 2) members of a historically underrepresented group in the United States and Canada. This includes Black, Latina/o/x, and Native American groups, as defined by the U.S. Department of Education (Source:https://www2.ed.gov//pubs/advancing-diversity-inclusion.pdf). Application: https://forms.gle/FRn5dkkYubofHSxFA Application Deadline: Applications are due for consideration on a quarterly basis. Due dates are January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st Please allow two weeks for review from time of submission. Students who are awarded the scholarship must show proof of enrollment in the class, workshop or activity before the scholarship is administered. This may require the student to pay for the activity first and then get reimbursed upon receipt of the award. The scholarship money will be issued as a Visa gift card. Questions?
