Congratulations to California Lutheran University student, Joseph Casas for receiving the 2nd annual ACC scholarship for CLU students on the spectrum. Joseph was awarded a $4,000 scholarship thanks to all of the donors who have generously supported our center. Please know that for two years in a row, and for many years to come, your donations support the persistence and graduation of Cal Lutheran students on the spectrum!

Thanks to Not An Autism Mom, Reach Every Voice, and Autistically Inclined for educating folks on typing, spelling, and pointing to communicate. Our center is honored to have partnered with all three of you to bring resources and education to the larger community. This was an informative presentation.

The ACC Task Force for Historically Underrepresented Students is delighted to announce the Autism and Communication Center Scholarship for Students of Color. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide up to $300 in funding to students of color on the spectrum so that they may participate in an organized activity focused on developing educational and/or communication skills. These activities include, but are not limited to, communication workshops, online educational class...es, or coaching sessions with a speech language pathologist or educator who is trained in augmentative and alternative communication. Eligible students are those who are 1) diagnosed with autism, and 2) members of a historically underrepresented group in the United States and Canada. This includes Black, Latina/o/x, and Native American groups, as defined by the U.S. Department of Education (Source:https://www2.ed.gov//pubs/advancing-diversity-inclusion.pdf). Students who are awarded the scholarship must show proof of enrollment in the class, workshop or activity before the scholarship is administered.
