Atascadero Ward Information and Announcements 10.10.2021

Hello Stake family! We’re looking forward to Stake Conference! --both to strengthen our faith and to hear some beautiful spiritual messages from our leaders. *...Here is a message from the Stake, and a copy of the email sent out by the First Presidency earlier this week: Dear Brothers and Sisters, We are excited about our upcoming Stake Conference this weekend. Many of you may have received an email statement from the First Presidency regarding wearing masks for our public meetings; the statement is included below for your reference. We are asking all that attend to please wear a mask. Also note that the entire conference will be broadcast via Zoom as well [see email for Zoom links.] Best Regards, San Luis Obispo Stake Presidency -----Statement from the First Presidency, 12 Aug 2021---- Dear Brothers and Sisters: We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic. We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population. To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible. To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective. We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise and thoughtful recommendations of medical experts and government leaders. Please know of our sincere love and great concern for all of God’s children. The First Presidency Russell M. Nelson Dallin H. Oaks Henry B. Eyring

Hello Atascadero Ward! This is Alissa Bright from Morro Bay ward. I need some helpers for Youth Conference on Friday, July 16th at the SLO church building. If you're available to lend a hand at either of these times to make Friday night's event an AMAZING evening for our kids, please message me! 4pm-6:30pm: I need helpers to apply face/body paint, wigs, and costumes to our 7 living statues. Skill is not necessarily required, just willingness! (They will be painted like st...one (grey), so I'm not looking for skilled makeup artists... just helpful hands). 8pm-10pm: I'm looking for friendly faces to man the treat booths in the "outdoor Italian plaza" (which will actually be indoors). One booth will be scooping gelato into bite-sized cones, another will be mixing italian sodas, another will just be refilling the water jug (easy!), another giving out candy. This will be a fun job for all involved! Thanks for your willingness. See more

As safety guidelines shift and as temple restrictions change, it's important for us to trust in the Lord and His servants. Reflect on how you've been able to se...e the hand of God in your life as you watch this video, originally shared by Church News in July 2020. Four months after closing all 168 temples worldwide in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints resumed the performance of all living ordinances in 12 temples on July 27. President Russell M. Nelson and his counselors in the First Presidency President Dallin H. Oaks and President Henry B. Eyring said the move was part of a carefully coordinated, cautious, and phased reopening of temples impacted by the pandemic. President Nelson speaks about the painful decision to close the temples in this Church News video.
