We would like to update you regarding ASPIRE’s temporary closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak. As you know, the state of California remains on lockdown. Unfortunately, we are uncertain when this restriction will be lifted, and therefore do not know when ASPIRE Creative Arts Program will be able to resume programming. We will continue to follow the guidelines set by the state and Regional Center, and will remain temporarily closed until otherwise notified. We hope this crisis will end soon, and will contact you immediately when we are able to begin our program again. In the meantime, please let us know if you would like more information about our online services for current students!
BOO! Did we scare you? :) Image Description: 7 people hold up their paintings and drawings of ghosts, Mickey Mouse, and other Halloween characters.
We loved getting to see some of our students this week as we dropped off goodie bags for our 5th anniversary! Each student received a t-shirt, photo book, and a DVD from last year's Christmas Show.
This week we have been virtually celebrating our 5 Year Anniversary at ASPIRE Creative Arts Program! ASPIRE opened its doors in September 2015. To those of you who have been there from the very beginning, and to those of you who have joined us along the way - you are the reason we do what we do. Thank you for letting us be part of your lives, and thank you for being part of our ASPIRE family.
Next week (9/28-10/2), we are celebrating ASPIRE Creative Arts Program's 5th anniversary! We invite students to dress up during virtual classes, if they would like to. Monday's theme is Masquerade Monday, Tuesday's theme is Disney Day, Wednesday's theme is Wacky Hair Wednesday, Thursday's theme is Sports Day, and Friday's theme is ASPIRE Spirit Day. For more details, please see the attached flyer. We have included paper masks in this week's mail for "Masquerade Monday," but in case you don't receive yours in time, here are some designs to choose from. We look forward to celebrating with you next week!
July's Hip Hop Workshop was a blast! Students enjoyed creating their own raps. Thank you to James and Nathan from the Dragon Kim Foundation for presenting this workshop for our students! [Image Description: 6 women and 5 men smile during a Zoom hip hop workshop.]

Here's a look at what some of our students have been working on during art class! Current students can join us for studio art on Tuesdays at 9, and painting on Wednesdays at 12. [Image Description: 3 women and 6 men in a Zoom class are holding up their artwork. There are 5 drawings or paintings of pandas and there is one coloring page with a chick in an Easter basket.]
One day, we will be able to have parties and hug our friends again. You are in our hearts. [Image Description: Students pose with their friends and a bouquet of flowers in front of a banner of colored paper hearts and a sign that reads, "You'll be in my heart." Other students dance in front of the DJ table in the main hall.]

We are excited to announce that next week, August 3-7, we will be having a virtual Music Production workshop presented by students from the Dragon Kim Foundation! The workshop will take place in the afternoons from 3-4pm, instead of the classes that we usually have at that time. All of the other group classes will continue as planned. Students will need both an iPad/iPhone/Mac with GarageBand and a second device to participate in the Zoom portion of the workshop. The Dragon Kim Foundation has iPads available for students to borrow during the workshop. SPACE IS LIMITED to 10 students on a first-come first-serve basis. Please RSVP to reserve your spot so that we can send you the Zoom information and drop off an iPad for you to borrow. To RSVP, you can email, text, or call Kirstie.
