Yoga Therapy with Ashley

My body is wise. This is a mantra I give to almost all of my students. Like all practices, I first gave it to myself. These words are my translation of a message from yoga philosophy. Yoga Sutra 3.34 says pratibhadva sarvam, or the heart is the seat of the mind. The mind takes in information, but the heart decides what to do with it.... Yoga also says we are each an unchanging soul, carried by the vessel of our brilliant bodies. The soul animates the body, and dwells in the heart; the wise heart. The anatomy of our nervous system confirms that we have more information traveling from the heart to the brain than in the opposite direction. So what does all of this mean? You are brilliant! Think about how your body, with no intervention from you, will heal a cut or scrape in weeks. Think about how you move through an illness. Think of how resilient your mental state is, cracking and mending again and again. How capable you are! You are a survivor. You’re still here. Trust yourself.

My little copilots had a happy vet visit today! (Arthur and Nova love the center console; Oliver was in the backseat. ) I am so grateful for animals. They teach me to be enthusiastic and present in every moment. How cute are they? I can’t stand it.... #ArthurIgnatiusPendragon #NovaOptimaPrime
