Arts Visalia is excited to host the inspiring Seen and Unseen: Ricardo Favela-Expressions of Chicano/a Art exhibition. The exhibition honors the life’s work of Chicano Artist Ricardo Favela, and other Central Valley artists to bring awareness to the region’s rich cultural diversity. Raised in Dinuba, Favela started his education at COS and later transferred to Sacramento State College. Favela’s commitment to the community and education guided him to commitment with the Royal ...Chicano Air Force (RCAF). This led to his engagement with the United Farm Workers Union (UFW), the Chicano cultural arts movement and statewide and local civil rights and community empowerment. This exhibition will celebrate how Favela used his artistic voice to reflect the Chicano experience. Seen and Unseen will be featured in the gallery from March 3rd-26th, 2021.
