Process ...of oil painting involves drying time between layers. Sometimes it’s necessary to work with paint while it is wet, for blending purposes. But in order to get the purest color layered on top of another color, the paint needs to dry. It’s also good to walk away from a painting for some time to give my eyes a rest. When I return to a painting after some time, I notice details that need to be added or changed that I couldn’t see before.

Warrior of Compassion . Oil paint on canvas 2020 .... I have had the honor and privilege of living with Heidi Heredia @daughterhephzibah for the past 2 and a half years. The people you know best are the ones you live with. And I have seen how much Heidi loves Jesus! She meets with him every day, cries, prays, and lets him fill her up again. I have seen her stop for the one. She fights for the vulnerable and helpless, in the prayer room AND face-to-face. If you look into her eyes, you will see Jesus. This painting is my attempt to honor her.
