I called my daughter the other day to see how midterms were going and she said she was feeling a little run down and a bit under the weather. I reminded her to use her herbs. I suggested thyme tea with lemon and honey alone or with ginger, cinnamon, clove or rosemary those herbs many people have on hand in their pantry. She brewed some up and was nurtured and feeling better, thankful for the reminder. ... Of course I also reminded her to nourish herself with sleep, a little exercise, some sun, and fresh air and to take time for a little fun. It‘s easy to forget how powerful herbs are and how easy it can be to incorporate them into our lives. Making tasty teas, adding them to our food, or making pestos and syrups allows us to enjoy the botanical blessings of these plants. You don’t need to be fancy. Use what you have fresh or dried. I’m working on a blog post about herbs and continue to add content to my website to share what I’ve learned in my life journey. Now it’s your turn. What are your thoughts. What are your favorite wellness teas. Who do you follow for advice on plants and herbs? #aromatherapybytricia #certifiedaromatherapist #herbaltea #herbs #plants #naturalwellness #midterms #collegelife #universitylife #ucsd #taketimeforyou #takecareofyourself #wellness #biologymajors #plantpeople #temeculaaromatherapist #temecula #bekind

I love the aroma of cinnamon how about you? Cinnamon bark and leaf oils smell amazing and fight germs but like many spicy oils must be used with care. Learn how the bark and leaf oil differ and how to use these oils safely. Plus a fall inspired diffuser blend you'll love.

As the weather cools I enjoy diffusing fall inspired blends that include spicy and woodsy aromas. Cinnamon bark is one of my favorites. It’s sweet, warm, and inviting like an aromatic hug. But like many spicy oils it must be used with care. It’s cinnamaldehyde and eugenol content are excellent at fighting germs and support the body and mind in many ways but can be quite irritating to the skin and mucus membranes. Use in small amounts in diffuser blends (a drop or two will d...o) and cinnamon must be heavily diluted if used topically (dermal limit is 0.05%). Want to learn more about using cinnamon bark essential oil safely and if the oil from the leaf and bark are interchangeable? Follow the link in the bio or in the comments on Facebook and check out latest blog post that includes a fall inspired diffuser blend. On this Halloween It’s a treat to be able to customize handcrafted products to meet customers needs (no tricks here) maybe it’s an allergy to an essential oil or ingredient or the need for a product with additional botanicals or ingredients. When I shop for things I often wish I could customize them. What personal care product do you wish you could customize? #aromatherapybytricia #certifiedaromatherapist #aromatherapy #essentialoils #custom #handcrafted #artisanskincare #temeculaaromatherapist #temecula

Patchouli essential oil may not come to mind for germ fighting blends but research indicates it has a unique way offering protection against viruses. Many essential oils are effective against viruses before they invade cells. Viruses are parasites that invade and take over cells to reproduce. Many essential oils are helpful at knocking out viruses before they invade host cells. Patchouli is unique in that it not only inactivates virus particles directly but also interferes wi...th viruses after absorption by cells. Essentially it’s waiting on the other side to ask viruses Hey where do you think you’re going? Pow! Bam! I don’t think so. Not everyone enjoys patchouli but I often hide it under sweet orange, lemongrass, thyme, and other pre-infection powerhouses and immune boosters to add an additional layer of protection in my germ fighting and immune boosting blends. My herbs have been growing like crazy and my tomatoes have grown huge but aren’t producing much fruit. One plant produced a plethora of flowers but they would just wither and disappear. The plant had overgrown its container and my husband suggested pruning it. As I trimmed away some of the growth it seemed to offer a lesson. Sometimes when we’re heading in all sorts of directions and putting energy in to lots of places we can actually fall short of being fruitful despite all... the promising flowers. Cutting back on unfruitful things even if they are good and focusing on the best can help yield more of what matters in our lives. Now I’m seeing more of the flowers grow into tomatoes and was reminded that sometimes we may need to prune some things from our lives even if they are good to find God’s best for us. If this resonates with you share your thoughts below. I’ve been loving black spruce essential oil lately and craving cozy fall blends. This morning I added 2 drops sweet orange, and a drop each of cinnamon bark, rosemary, black spruce, and peppermint to create a sweet, spicy, woodsy blend that embraces the cooler California weather. This blend supports the digestive and respiratory systems, is uplifting and energizing and celebrates the fall. What oils or blends do you love diffusing in the cooler fall days? #aromatherapybytricia #certifiedaromatherapist #aromatherapy #essentialoils #diffuserblends #custom #blackspruce #sweetorange #rosemary #cinnamonbark #peppermint #customblends #handcrafted #organicingredients #wildcraftedingredients #falldiffuserblends #naturalwellness #temeculaaromatherapist #temecula

Making handcrafted face care products today. Be Fresh face wash: The refreshing grapefruit and tea tree wash that gently exfoliates and cleanses the skin to support a more radiant complexion. And Be Soothed goat milk face cream that luscious, hydrating, nourishing, cream that leaves your skin feeling and looking moisturized and more youthful. ... Daucus carota or carrot seed oil is one of the essential oils I tuck into the goat milk cream formulation. It’s prized for its ability to rejuvenate and repair the skin and aid in the process of healing. It’s beautiful flowering tops are known as Queen Anne’s lace a plant and story I was fascinated by as a kid. They grew on the hillsides of the parks I played in alongside the apartment complex I lived in as a kid. I was fascinated by the story of Queen Anne pricking her finger while sewing lace and the flowers commemorating her with red droplet in their center. Likewise I’m fascinated by carrot seed oil and it’s gorgeous benefits for the skin. But like pricking your finger it’s aroma is not pleasant. But like the beauty of lace and the gorgeous flowers of Daucus carota its effects of supporting healing and rejuvenation of the skin are worth it. Plus it’s tucked away under the scents of lavender, frankincense, and orange to create a beautifully synergistic support for your skin. Aromatic blessings my friends. My beautiful daughter Maya came home for a visit last week and I shared some of my herbal bounty with her. She rooted and planted some of the Thai basil and made an herb infused olive oil. A farmer sowed his field and went away, and as the days went by the seed grew and grew without his help. For the soil made the seeds grow. First the leaf blade pushed through, and later the heads of wheat formed and finally the grain ripened, and the farmer came at once with his sickle and harvested it. Mathew 4:26-29 TLB The potential locked within a seed is astounding. In the right environment it sprouts, produces fruit or grain, and leaves seed to repeat the cycle agai...n. And although we understand how seeds and plants work in many ways it still remains a profound mystery of nature. Likewise I believe there is profound potential waiting inside of each of us when given the right environment will begin to unfold and grow. Our thinking can go a long way in supporting our mental and physical wellbeing. Our thoughts are like planting seeds. Practicing positivity can yield a fruitful crop. Visit the link in the bio and the recent blog post on the power of positive thought in wellness to explore further. How do you practice positivity?
