It's time for the Women's March again - in DC and everywhere - diverse communities come together for this massive movement, defending rights and addressing systemic issues. Creating their logo for the second year is a strong end to 2019 for us, and we are thankful for the continued opportunities to Design for Good.

Today’s the day! Battle For The Bay. #battleforthebay2019 San Francisco and Oakland join forces in friendly competition to clean our cities. Designing and illustrating this project during my move between SF (26 years!) and Oakland (6weeks now) was unexpectedly autobiographical. Illustrating the two inspiring LadyMayors and their amazing and complex cities was a great challenge, and creating the small but powerful CitizenSuperheroes that clean tall buildings in a single bound was just fun.

Most charming email to AFGD... Hi Arin, This may be your strangest inquiry of the day. I am a dealer in early/rare/important/unusual American maps and prints, based in western Mass. I am about as far from a Burner as one could be--52, centrist Democrat, attached to my creature comforts, and a bit scared of hallucinogens--but I've begun accumulating Burning Man ephemera. The design is wonderful, and the material is a really interesting part of the American story. I have a 1000... questions, but my question of the day is, have you also done the design work on the folding brochure....... With thanks, Mike

If you've seen this illustration around town, it is by yours truly. We were brought on to create the event branding for this joint city effort to encourage people to clean up the bay. Another collection of creatures/creations for the Burning Man 2019 survival guide. The theme for this year is Metamorphoses. Translating the concept from verbal is visual is the key to this project's success (or lack of it). Excited/nervous to learn about next year's theme.

I regularly get scam emails with folks pretending to want graphic design services. Here's one from today I thought was especially poorly done, and therefore amusing... "That all i can provide from my means and i hope you understand what i listed above i need more perfect Job. If you can handle this for me you will be my permanent graphics designer and i will meet you in person after this design is done, due to my trip to get some stuff for my company. I would be very happy to hear from you on time."
