Picked up a used 2002 #toyota #prius for my oldest #niece as her 1st car. What I thought to be a good deal ended up needing a $1500 #hybrid #battery (more than what I paid for the car )... called up a couple local hybrid specialist and neither one of them wanted to help saying the car is too old and parts are no longer available. Before dropping the cash on a refurbished battery I decided to troubleshoot it and after taking it apart found 2 bad cells. Ordered 2 gen 1 battery cells = wrong. Ordered 2 gen 1.5 battery cells = wrong AGAIN! Turns out the battery pack was retrofitted with gen 2 battery cells. Replaced 2 cells cleaned up the bus bars and inspect battery voltage across all 19 blocks (38 cells) all balanced. After a couple failed diagnosis from 2 different repair shops we received this 2014 #honda #civic with complaints of battery drains after sitting for 2 days. Inspect for parasitic draw and narrowed down to the backup fuse. Disconnect every component in that circuit and isolate the draw coming from the interior fuse box. Replaced the fuse box and charged battery. Inspect for draw within limits. Parked vehicle for 2 days and verified repair. #autoRepair #concord #sfBayArea #eastBay #bayArea #autoRepairGarage

So #dope! One of my regular customers came in for a smog today. We just did shocks on his #landCrusher last week. He was going to replace them himself but due to an injury he decided to let us handle it for him and he lent us his special locking #plier he was going to use to tackle the job. I was so intrigued by the pliers I couldn't stop talking to him about how awesome they were and how much easier it was to get the job done. When he came in today he got me my own pair!
