LANDMINE SUMO SQUATS Part _ Another reason why I like this variation personally and as a trainer is because it's easy on the lower back and can be performed by clients who suffer from LBP (lower back pain). Not to take away from the Back Squat as it's in a superior category of compound movements on its own but some people may experience pain with just Squatting the bar alone. I know I have experienced that myself. ... _ The first thing I look at besides if one can anteriorly tilt their pelvis is do the heels come up when Squatting. Most are tight in their calves and most likely don't stretch or even foam roll . HARDER THAN IT LOOKS _ Experimentation with this dynamic med ball core exercise. Taken as a progression from the Kettlebell plank pull thru. This is harder than it looks and will get your core screaming. Definitely working anti-rotation and isometrically contracting the obliques by resisting rotation and transverse abdominis by keeping that push-up position by not allowing my hips to fall. LANDMINE SUMO SQUATS Part _ I love this squat variation for many reasons. It's easy to load and as a trainer it's easy to teach Don't be fooled by adding a few 45 pound plates it does get heavy. You can aim for a 5 rep max or bang out 20 reps for a massive pump You must change your bilateral squat variations to achieve new muscle stimulus' and deviate from plateauing.
