On this Labor Day I can not help but think about all those talking about essential workers. When the news or businesses post about essential workers they are talking about those that are legally allowed to work through Covid closures. But it always stings to hear it, because the truth is ALL JOBS ARE ESSENTIAL. EVERYONE'S JOB IS ESSENTIAL TO THEM. Today we celebrate the work we do, yes it is meant for those doing manual labor, but all work on some level is a labor of lo...ve. Because you love your family and want to provide. Because you love your work and want to do it well. Because you love the child growing inside you and can not wait to meet them. Labor as work, and labor as bringing a small human into this world should be a labor of love. You may not feel much love right now. You may feel stressed, alone, and tired. You may feel like no one cares about you and the job you do. Do not be deceived by the current propaganda....you and your work are needed. It is amazing how people often compare their burdens to someone else's. Just because they don't let you know how hard things are, doesn't mean they aren't hard for them. We have forgotten to give people grace. And understand that people have hard days and often the poor treatment or forgetfulness have nothing to do with you, but all they they have going on. Today, please give people grace. Please assume they are having a hard time, rather than thinking they are jerks. ... Please forgive whoever wrongs you with the full belief that they need you to forgive them at this time. Our world is in a fight or flight state and sometimes we just need someone to help us adjust into a rest and digest. Take time to rest, and know you are cared for. Take time to digest that your troubles and others do not need to be in competition, but support from others. Take time for yourself to heal from the burdens of your day. You are an amazing human and loved.....and don't forget that!!!!
