We are closed until further notice :( Librarians are still available to assist you. These are stressful times. If we can make them a little less stressful by assisting you with your research, please let us know! https://libguides.arc.losrios.edu/c.php?g=1012164
An ARC faculty member shared this link and it's definitely worth a look if you missed it. Not endorsing everything in it, but I find the "Remember the following" and then the caution about requiring synchronous work to be well worth considering. https://anygoodthing.com//please-do-a-bad-job-of-putting-/
We're open regular hours today and tomorrow. Stay safe out there, but know that if you do need to come to the library, as you can see, social distancing is not going to be too challenging :)
Possible resource?
We've just been informed that the library will be permitted to maintain our regular hours until Tuesday night. If you need to copy something from a textbook or check out a book, come on in while we're allowed to be open :)
Well, now we have been directed to reopen, but we still have no idea whether we'll be able to be open Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday.
We have been forced to close our doors. Librarians and library staff will only be permitted to be on campus until Tuesday, March 17th. If you need something from a print resource in the library, let us know before then and we'll see what we can do. We will continue to offer assistance remotely after the 17th.
Educator friends, please don't require that students use double sided printing. Our printers don't do double sided prints. This makes life harder for students and ends up wasting more paper :( Thank you!
Wow. Just read this review and now I want to read everything Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez has written. We don't have any of her books at this moment :( That will be rectified..
From Kathleen Wong
The authors note about the PWI at which the study is conducted "...faculty, and possibly university administrators, are not deeply rooted in the literature regarding black students at PWIs." https://digitalcommons.humboldt.edu/hjsr/vol1/iss39/23/ Want to be deeply rooted in the literature regarding Black students at PWIs? We can help :) Here's one of many reading recommendations we would offer.
Thanks to Alejandra Garcia and her great Pride Center workshop, I learned a bit about Marsha P. Johson, Sylvia Rivera, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, all three of whom have content in this book available in the library! :) https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx
