On this special day we offer a moment of silent reflection from our Field of Honor, followed by Mike Danielson's performing taps on the final night of the 2021 Field of Honor.

We have a look at how the Field of Honor gets set up. A special thanks to the Arcadia Police and Fire Departments for their invaluable help in setting up the 2021 Field of Honor.

On March 23rd, 12:30pm (PST) The Arcadia Rotary Club, Arcadia (California, USA) and Eynsham Rotary Club(Oxfordshire, UK) will be meeting to honor the global grant scholar, Kelsea Jeon, from Arcadia, who is studying at Oxford. The meeting will be hosted by the Eynsham Rotary Club through ZOOM. The two clubs will share a bit about their communities and Kelsea will share some of her experiences. Always such a pleasure to hear from Kelsea Jeon, our Global Grant Scholar! We are happy to report Kelsea is doing well and starting her 2nd Term at Oxford University. I have been attending Eynsham Rotary Club meetings regularly and enjoy learning about how they give back as well as participating in the post-meeting trivia quizzes (though I have very dim prospects of ever winning). Last week was "Burns Night," a Scottish holiday, and one of the new members of the Club, who is from Scotland, organized a virtual celebration for us. Congratulations James Jim Pontello, our Rotarian of the Month! If there is ever a service project or committee that needs help Jim will be there, serving! Jim is also our Arcadia Rotary Club Membership Director, and has held the position since 2018.... Jim’s role as the Membership Director is a vital part of our club as Jim is tasked with mentoring all the incoming, new Rotarians. Jim has been wildly successful in making the new Rotarians feel welcome and helping them realize their full potential in the club. Outstanding work, Jim! Our Arcadia Rotarians putting service above self and spending the weekend working alongside the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to assemble furniture in the warehouse. Whether it is constructing new homes for those in need or assembling furniture we are always so thankful for the opportunity to partner with Habitat for Humanity. Arcadia Rotarians will again be working with Habitat for Humanity this coming weekend to construct a home in San Gabriel Valley.

The Arcadia Rotary Club is proud to present our Hugo Reid Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Brenda Halberstadt! Mrs. Halberstadt teaches the 1st grade, and we are so grateful for her nearly 40 years of dedication and care for our children in the classroom.
