Even though events, classes and workshops are cancelled or postponed, the Arbo remains open. https://www.latimes.com//california-reopening-la-arboretum
Reminder: The Hands-on Pruning workshop is cancelled, and Plumeria Day is postponed until further notice. When I get an update on the Plumeria A-Z workshop, I'll post. Plumeria season is starting, so look for leaf claws on your tips. Fertilize after leaves appear. Stay safe, everyone, and help one another!
After regrowing from the heatwave, not much is left. Very rapid growth is weak, and most of these branches have snapped off at the slightest touch.

California Sally #207 aka Belle Vista, Jameson's and Bud's Sally. 5-5 1/2" pink rainbow with a golden yellow center and a spicy fragrance with onion or garlic undertones. The pink fades to white creating a lighter effect. Keeping quality is very good. Bud Guillot obtained this cutting in 1970, and named it after the daughter of the man he bought it from. She was studying in Hawaii and would send him cuttings to sell so she could pay for college. This variety could have been around since 1968. During that time, it was commonly called Bud's Sally in California and then when it spread to other states it was called Bud's California Sally. In 1999, it was registered with the PSA as California Sally.
Red Candy Stripe was sold by Marilynn's Garden, however I suspect it's the same as the well-known Teresa Wilder from Hawaii. After a few more bloom cycles, I'll confirm the AKA. Until then, this beauty, donated by Arturo Martinez, will be tagged as RCS.
Vivid pink splash decorates this pagoda-tipped beauty. Donated by Jungle Jack, who developed this JJ seedling in their Thai groves.
Mele Pa Bowman AKA MPB, Evergreen Singapore Yellow, Yellow Obtusa. PSA #114. Named after the mother of Maile O'Donnell, who accidently bred the plumeria in her Hawaiian yard, and was spotted by Donald Angus in the early 1980s. - One of the most desirable landscape trees because of its gorgeous, shiny, dark green leaves and beautiful yellow flowers with the same strong unique perfume as the P. obtusa 'Singapore'. Cold hardy, evergreen and easy to grow compact tree.
Donated as a one gallon plant in 2016, this fast growing plumeria produces abundant pink and purple flowers over a long bloom season. Developed by Jim Little on Oahu, and named in honor of Emerson Willis for his avid promotion of our favorite flower.
Heavy blooming and compact growing, Camelot is another excellent. brightly colored plumeria developed by Tex and Kay Norwood at Florida Colors Nursery. * Step through the photos to see the tree grow, branch and bloom, starting in 2016.
