Over 250 participants from around the world are participating in this year’s Zebrafish Hisbandry Virtual Workshop. 3 days of informative talks sharing important lab practices for keeping Zebrafish healthy for medical research.

The first day of the #Zebrafish Husbandry Workshop has come to a close, and it went swimmingly, with eight very different talks that in the end were all related to the Communication theme. How does social isolation (lack of communication) affect the zebrafish brain? How does the immune system communicate with microbiota in the support or hindrance of gut health? What communications are required (regulations) and which might be desirable for the betterment of the research community (reporting)? How does the tank environment affect the expression of aggression (enrichment), or on the other hand send ‘messages to the fish that determine their sex (density and feeding levels)? So much fascinating and important information was shared in each dynamic talk! Thanks to all who submitted questions or participated in the chat. #AQZHW2021

In the February edition of the Then & Now webinar series, we had a great time listening to Christine Archer compare the positive and negative aspects of various ways to organize zebrafish labs. She raised a number of issues that the zebrafish community will certainly continue to discuss and generated some interesting questions from the audience. Thank you, Christine!
