Renewals for Active consumers with Covered CA is available starting today. If you have a plan with Covered CA and would like to know more on what you can do, call me and I will assist you. Your plan will auto renew if you do not do anything to your account. You have until December 15th to change plans or change carriers.

What's new for the 2020 year for Covered CA? The subsidy that is available now includes state and federal. The state subsidy goes up to 600% of the FPL. The penalty is back for now having insurance for 2020. Questions? call me! text me! or email me!

We are very close to the annual open enrollment. Contact me if you need assistance in obtaining new insurance or if you need to make any changes to your current plan. Open enrollment is October 15th. October 1st, you will be able to see rates and subsidies for 2020 through their Shop and Compare link. Let me know if you need help!

Remember these dates during your open enrollment in CA: October 15-December 15 : Choosing a plan between these dates, your effective date 1/1/2019. December 16 - January 15: Choosing a plan between these dates, your effective date will be 2/1/2019. Last date of open enrollment: 1/15/2019.

It's still Special Enrollment until October 31st. Not everyone is qualified for enrollment until Nov. 1st. If you fall into one of the following special enrollment reasons, contact me so I can get your started. The basic types of qualifying events are: 1. Loss of health coverage (includes job based, individual, or student plans). 2. Changes in household (marriage, divorced, having a baby, adopting or death in the family). 3. Changes in residence (moved to a different zip).... There are also other qualifying events: becoming a citizen, leaving incarceration, changes in income that affect the coverage you qualify for, gaining membership in a federally recognized tribe, or a dependent coming off parents insurance policy. The last day of open enrollment is January 31st. What you need to know for the special enrollment period: You will not be able to switch carriers or plans during Feb 1- October 31st. Special Enrollment is a period where you would be able to enroll in a plan if you have experienced a qualify life event. Qualifying life events: ... Losing health coverage through job or spouse's job Turning 26 years old and are no longer eligible to stay on parents plan Moving from another state or region No longer incarcerated Having a child, adopting a child Getting married or becoming a citizen. Remember that if you are a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe, you are eligible to change once a month, even after open enrollment is over. If any of these occur, you have 60 days to enroll in a new plan. You will still get a tax penalty for having no insurance over 2 months. Hello everyone! With the Holiday season here and the rush to get all those who want a Jan 1st effective date, Covered CA has pushed back the final date to 12/22. So, if you've been holding off on getting insurance, you have until next Friday to make your decision.

Just received a notice from Blue Shield regarding premium payments: "Blue Shield of California is supporting our customers who have been impacted financially due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by introducing flexible premium payment options to help ensure coverage through this health and economic emergency. Beginning the week of April 6, we will send our standard notifications to customers who have not submitted payment for April 2020 premiums. These notifications will incl...ude an additional insert informing them that payment options are available and to contact Blue Shield to discuss those options. Additionally, customers who received a notice during their previous payment period that their payment was delinquent and included information about their grace period, or were scheduled to have their coverage canceled at the end of their grace period, will receive an updated notice with the insert. We are now offering customers the option to enroll in our Blue Shield Premium Payment Program. To continue coverage and avoid cancellation due to nonpayment, customers must meet and agree to all of the terms and conditions to enroll in the Premium Payment Program. The terms and conditions include, the requirement to pay the Total Amount Past Due in full and a minimum payment of 25% of their April premium as soon as possible, but no later than April 30."

Due to the Covid-19, Covered CA is expanding its Special Enrollment: "Effective immediately, any eligible consumer can enroll in health coverage without experiencing a qualifying event or other circumstances. In case you didn't have a chance to apply for health insurance during the annual open enrollment, there is a special enrollment happening right now until April 30th. This is for those that didn't know that you will be penalized for not having insurance.
