A team of AMM students has won third prize in the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) 2020 Concept 2 Consumer Student Design Competition. The team comprised Francesca Burks, Michelle Cruz, Jessica DeGard, Nicole Liu. The competition featured approximately 100 entries from 20 universities. The goal for the competition was to develop a design concept for a line of 3-5 garments for work attire that was "timeless in terms of sustainability, quality, ...and style." The competition allows students to showcase their creative design and problem-solving skills in textiles and apparel. Designs were required to include at least three non-neutral fashion colors and incorporate two or more surface designs. Additionally, through market and trend research, the team had to articulate a target market, and explain how their garments would be timeless and sustainable. The team also had to specify which AATCC test methods would be used for quality assurance. Congratulations to Nicole, Jessica, Michelle and Francesca. Well done! See more
