APCF unveiled our latest API Nonprofit COVID19 Needs Assessment findings last Thursday during a virtual event, API V-Tour Leaders Who Adapt, Persist, and Innovate During COVID-19. Co-hosted with AAPIP-LA and Southern California Grantmakers, this virtual tour was in lieu of our annual API community van tour for funders and attended by almost 50 participants representing 25 funders. Surveying 45 nonprofits in April and 38 in August serving Asian and Pacific Islander communi...ties throughout Southern California, APCF's findings include: Almost 60% of surveyed nonprofits experienced an increase in demand for services due to COVID-19 1/3 of smaller nonprofits did not apply for a PPP loan Over 55% do not have reserves or an endowment fund Nearly 60% will not meet annual budget needs in 2020 1/5 of smaller nonprofits did not receive any help from government or foundations The event highlighted local API nonprofit leaders - Tracy Zhao of API Equality-LA, Cynthia Sanchez of Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center, and Susana Sngiem, MSW of United Cambodian Community of Long Beach.
