dropped off a few large boxes of gently used purses to show our support to our fellow Maharlika Lions Club. They are collecting them for "Purposes with a Purpose." Details on flyer. Time to clean out your closets and give your old purses a new home!

Attention Parents: Have you heard of Macaroni Kid? Each Macaroni Kid community is managed by a local publisher mom or dad, who publishes weekly, hyper-local e-newsletters and websites featuring events, activities, products and places for parents, kids and families. They host local events and parties and connect with their communities here on social media. They enrich communities by connecting the libraries, schools, rec centers, community centers and all of the wonderful organizations and businesses that create programming and fun for kids and families with local families. Yea! Antelope Lions

We are the proud recipients of the 2019-2020 Kindness Matters Service Award, thanks to the Antelope Feeding Antelope and Beyond project. Wow, what an honor it is to be selected out of 40,000+ nation-wide clubs! This prestigious award is given annually to a handful of Lions for performing an outstanding service project in one of our global cause areas. (Hunger) Nominated at the club level, the Kindness Matters Service Award is a challenge for Lions to develop exceptionally... innovative and creative service projects with the aim of leaving a positive impact in our communities. Our club conducted a 12-week project to meet the food insecurity needs of this area. People from 33 surrounding zip codes were served. Our mighty, little club established collaborations with six partner organizations and six other local Lions clubs while incorporating social media, a local radio station and two TV interviews for the project awareness. Our internal stats from the Antelope Feeding Antelope and Beyond project at the time of submission are astounding: People served: 4,855 Number of volunteer hours: 828 Number of volunteers: 288 #KindnessMattersServiceAward #SacramentoAntelopeLionsClub #WeServe

Wednesday (April 14th) will be our last day handing out groceries. Once again, this program has been incredibly successful thanks to the donations, the volunteers, Taste of Tuscany, The Fish and the helpful people like you, who spread the word and share the news. Bring your reusable bag, wear a mask and come get your free groceries for the week. ... Last week we served chicken, breakfast sausage, eggs, bread, pasta, marinara sauce, beans, rice, apples, oranges, luttuce, cucumbers, bell peppers, celery, potatoes, onions and more. We start serving at 9:30am until the food runs out. It might be wise to arrive early. Please tell a neighbor or friend in need to come. See more
