Have curly hair? You need moisture! And lots of it. The key to a great relationship with your curly hair is finding a regime that works best for you and products that work best for your hair.... Your gonna need: A shampoo and conditioner that cleanse the hair while adding tons of moisture. A moisturizing product. I’m obsessed with Unite 7 seconds detangle spray or Unite Boing Curl Leave-In cream And something with a little stick or home. Soft mousse, light weight gel, something like this. You want to encapsulate those strands of curls and keep frizz out but no crunch! Crunch is out! If you find a system that works for you and your hair your gonna have a much better relationship with your curly hair. When it comes to fashion and style I’ll be honest I try to stay away from the trends. They come on quick and they pass even quicker.... My style and taste is much more timeless and simple. One of the number one things I take my time with when it comes to hair extensions is matching the color. Whether it comes with a perfect match or it has to be custom colored don’t skip this step. I can promise you if the color of your extensions and your natural hair don’t match, it will never blend well or look natural! They have to match! This is the only way to make sure that you can’t tell where the natural hair ends and the extensions begin.... Pro tip- I also like to think about what the natural hair color will be when it fades in 1-2 months. Are the extensions still gonna match then? This is a very important thing to think about. Just because they match the day they walk out of the salon, doesn’t mean that’s what they’ll look like after 15-20 washes. You CAN make sure they match the whole time. CLIENT POST - This post goes out to my curly or frizzy haired guests who love a smooth blow out, but struggle with how to get it frizz-free. (Just gonna say this one will work for anyone’s hair, just works especially great for the above mentioned)... The brush in the picture is a boar bristle brush. You know those kind our aunty or grandma always had. They have a softer bristle but are packed in tight. The purpose of this brush is grip. These bristles grab the hair and they create tension. Tension is what is takes to really pull that hair straight and get all the curl or frizz out of your hair. Next time your giving yourself a smooth blowout try this type of brush. Wrap the hair around the brush, utilize the tight bristles and allow the hair to move slowly through the brush. Stick with each section until it’s 100% dry. Have you ever seen your hair brush day after day fill with hairs and wondered if your losing your hair??... Here’s the thing We all shed 50-100 hairs a day, 350-700 a week 1500-3000 a month Etc. It’s normal. It’s the natural lifespan that all hairs go through. They appear, they grow and they shed. It’s the bodies natural way. Client Post - Have you used COCONUT OIL on your hair? Are you currently using it on your hair??... WHY??? Cause someone, somewhere, sometime told you it was good for your hair? Have you actually looked into any research about it being GOOD for your hair?? You should. I know this may come as a shock and I’m sure there will be some who disagree with me but the truth is Coconut Oil is actually not that great for your hair! I promise you! It may act as a quick-fix or a bandaid but in terms of actually helping your hair NOPE! It goes on the hair, it lays on the top of the hair strand AND it fills in the tiny cracks called CUTICLES. It actually clogs the cuticles badly. If you use it over and over again oh man! It will have your hair cuticles packed so full, that if you ever do a mask or treatment that would actually work, that product can’t even get to the right place because the hair is clogged with coconut oil. Can you imagine what it’s doing to the follicles on your scalp?? Say good bye to any new hair growth, that’s for sure! Please. Do your research. - Things that make me happy 2021 Edition - Spending time with my family. My absolute favorite past time! Anytime, Anywhere! Finding an amazing series to watch that has more than 1 season. (Ughhh, you all know that feeling when you get hooked and it ends after ONE DARN SEASON!)... Coming home after work and seeing how absolutely happy my future babies are to see me. That’s a greeting I never get tired of. A really great steak, with some salad on the side. It makes me soooo happy! Buying new clothes. Not just any new clothes. Client Post - Did you know that your at-home hair care is absolutely crucial to the integrity of your hair and of your color? Yep! I can take great care of you in the salon, and offer all kinds of treatments, but all that means nothing if your not properly caring for your hair (or Hair Extensions) at home.... Here are a few tips to help you keep your hair in tip too shape - wash your hair! Don’t buy into that old wives tale that washing your hair less is better. not true!! Wash your hair! And on shampoo day, wash it twice. The first one gets all the shizzz off. The second one will let your product work. Pro-Tip: Use a professional grade, moisture based shampoo. This will deliver the best love to your hair while you wash. - use a light-weight oil on your ends. A great oil will offer multiple benefits to your hair. The key is finding the right oil. Light-weight is the key. Many oils are too thick and heavy. They will cause build up and most likely clog your hair cuticles. Pro-Tip: if your a blonde, be careful of golden colored oils. That pigment can attach to your hair and cause it to go brassy. - put your hair into a low braid before bed every night. This will help to care for the tiny cuticles along every strand of hair you have. It will also help reduce frizz, split ends, breakage, dryness, and so much more. It’s quick and easy and will help your hair be so much healthy! Trust me you WILL see a difference! Pro-Tip: always use a soft or satin hair-tie. I hope these help you with your hair. One Row of Invisible Bead Extensions for amazing added volume! Sometimes the goal is simply to add volume. My guest already has great hair, she just wanted it to be a bit thicker. No length needed, just volume.... That’s when I use 1 row of extensions. In this case I used the IBE- Invisible Bead Method to make sure her row was extra concealed. This method isn’t for everyone but, it is great for her!
