Bleu’s mom Sarah sent a video of Bleu playing today after his hospitalization and a note thanking you for your donations and prayers To all those who donated to help blu, I would like to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. First of of I would like to (virtually) introduce myself, I am Sara I am 21 years old and I recently moved to California from Texas in the middle of a pandemic. I know some of my journey has already been shared with you by the AALOC about... just how hard it was for me when I found out blu was sick, I had also been going through many changes in my life at this time. When I got Blu I knew I was going to spend some money on basic dog needs like food, vaccines, vet checks, toys and all the essentials. However, I was not expecting him to be so sick. I paid for as much as the medical expenses as a 21 year old college student could, yet I knew I couldn’t afford it anymore and I had to find him the help he needed and deserved. After many days of endless phone calls & vet visits I was able to get in contact Colleen from the AALOC, his fairy god mother who helped us get through this! Thank you to all of you who donated to help him get better. I cannot stress this enough & I told Colleen this the night I got him back he is literally all I have right now and he is my baby! So thank you so much to all of you who donated and I promise he will have the life I promised. Previous post https://fb.watch/3Y7K-YE2X5/

Trouble, one of our 6 month old kittens got adopted to a very sweet widow in Naples. It’s always a bittersweet moment for us to say goodbye. It’s also hard on the cats initially. They have no idea where their siblings, volunteers, everyone and everything they knew went, and find themselves in a completely unfamiliar world with a stranger. However, after a week or two of decompressing, adjusting and bonding, Trouble will be loving his mom and all the spoiling coming his way Message us if you’d like to volunteer with our 100+ cats at our no kill, nonprofit animal rescue
After major surgery and facing months of recovery ahead, Ichi’s mom is not able to physically care for or financially provide for Ichi and has asked us to help find Ichi a loving home. Ichi is 9 years old and lived with her owner her whole life. We know this is going to break her heart. She is a lovable and playful 28 pound Shiba Inu who loves people and plays well at dog parks. She had a mild seizure when she was 1 year old and again at 8 years old and no cause was found. She has an injured ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in her back leg for which she takes supplements and has had no surgery. She has sensitive skin for which she needs a special shampoo and is greatly helped by an injection every few months. If you would be interested in meeting Ichi, please message us on Facebook or email [email protected]
2-14-21 update Bleu improved after his blood transfusion last night and his red blood cell count rose from 17 to 35 (normal). He felt a little perky and invigorated at 4:30am so he did a little howling and then returned to resting. He continues with some diarrhea and not eating but we remain hopeful. Two new photos taken at 11am today added. Your donations and prayers for Bleu are deeply appreciated.... 2-13-21 This broke my heart today. She is 21 yrs old and just moved from out of state and was looking for a puppy to love when she came across a Facebook post for husky puppies and chose the black and white male with the blue eyes. She had to meet the breeder in a strip mall parking lot in San Diego and pay $500 in cash. Within 48 hours, this blue eyed puppy was lethargic, pale, and had vomiting and diarrhea. His young owner had no ability to pay thousands of dollars to have her puppy hospitalized. She sat in the ER parking lot for hours today waiting for updates on him, but she was helpless and terrified that she did not have the means to save him. AALOC was donating and helping with ideas on how to raise more funding when her voice cracked when she asked if AALOC could take her puppy so he would have the care he deserves. I said yes we would, and she began to cry, and my heart broke for her. He didn’t have a name yet so I asked her what she would like us to call him. Bleu She asked if she could give him a kiss goodbye as she left him with our emergency vet in order to save his life. In all transparency, AALOC is struggling like so many nonprofits. The shutdown has affected so many, and the affect is that donations are way down and pleas for help are way up. Bleu’s estimate is $7000 for 48 hours of ICU testing, monitoring, IV fluids, many medications, tube feedings and blood transfusions. Donations are tremendously appreciated. This is Honey. Sadly her elderly owner passed away. One of our wonderful volunteers agreed to permanently foster Honey who is diabetic and who needs daily injections. This little girl has developed cataracts in both eyes and can no longer see. The problem is that she is unable to go up and down the stairs at her foster's home. We would like to help her so that she can see again. Little Honey has enough problems as a diabetic dog. If you can help with a small pledge, even $5.00, we would be most grateful. Honey would be grateful too!! If you are able to help, you can use our secure webpage to donate: www.aaloc.org/donate. Or a check can be mailed to AALOC, PO Box 38, Midway City, CA 92655. Thanks so very much!

Lulu was all smiles today after her one week recheck after her first chemo. Lulu is such an amazingly sweet girl and she loves all the attention she is getting from the wonderful staff at Veterinary Cancer Group. It’s been 3 weeks since her leg was amputated for bone cancer and she’s pain free and there isn’t anything she can’t do with three legs.
Meet Marilyn - sweet, gentle and adorable! Find out more about Marilyn at www.aaloc.org/Marilyn. She is looking for a family and home of her own.
Great news for our Buster today! One tumor biopsy was benign and 2 tumors were malignant but low grade, low chance of metastasis and completely removed Now this may ruin his reputation, but Buster wagged his tail with the vet tech and I think he even kinda likes her Only $185 has been raised for his surgery bill of $3789. If you would like to donate, you may use the Facebook link or our secure website AALOC.org Thank you!

Freddy is ready! He went on his adoption home visit today and his new dad couldn’t be more loving. Freddy will bring lots of joy to his new dad whose husky just passed after a sudden severe illness. They need each other and couldn’t be a better match. Sometimes in life, the best is worth waiting for and Freddy is going to be very loved
Lulu had her leg amputated 15 days ago for osteosarcoma and feels so much better! She is showing her three legs who is boss! She has no difficulty getting up, walking including backing up, and even running. Her appetite is great and her attitude is the best! Today was another step in the clinical trial she is part of. Sadly, she wasn’t on the randomly chosen list of dogs who will receive a vaccine developed from their tumors so she will be in a control group and receive the standard care of chemo and today was chemo day 1, which included a biopsy of a new growth found inside her upper lip. Please keep our girl in your prayers. If you would like to donate to her care, today’s bill was $794 for the mouth biopsy and is not covered by the clinical trial. Thank you
