I first saw her on 10/28/2008 as I had severe face and bilateral TMD pain. Following a CBCT of my TM joints and an radiology report, she diagnosed severe degenerative joint disease of my bilateral temporomandibular joints (TMD), unstable bite, myofascial pain syndrome and capsulitis. Dr. Hunter’s treatment has consisted of a maxillary hard acrylic splint which is designed to balance my bite and relieve joint loading. In the beginning, my ongoing joint resorption and pain caused my bite to open so rapidly that she had to add acrylic to the splint weekly to maintain my occlusal balance.
