Here's why: Testimonials are reminders that I am making a difference where I'm at. Testimonials are validation that I'm supporting my clients in a way that feels good to them. Testimonials affirm that I'm using my experience, expertise and excitement to serve those who need me. What’s your definition of success?! I’ve struggled with this question, and when I sit down and am completely honest with myself, my definition of success comes pretty easily to me. Success for me is enjoying my family, and being present with them while still using my God-given talents to serve others.... Success is making a positive impact in the lives of those around me. Staying true to my values, while making an honest living and having fun while doing it. I can go on, and the simpler life is, the better. Yes, I have dreams of traveling, exploring, learning new things and dancing on stage. Having a home and space where I can invite many people in the party and celebrate everyday. The reality for me is that those things won’t matter unless I have my family beside me, u less there are friends to invite, unless I am of good character. What does this have to do with events? Each host must decide what a successful event looks like for them. Rather than looking outward and being distracted by all the bells and whistles. It’s best to: keep things simple focus on what your ideal attendees need and how your unique offer can meet them where they are right now. Tell me, what’s your idea of a successful event?

Sometimes you have to be willing to look ridiculous and be radical to live a remarkable life. - Sharon Jaynes I remember when I was fan girling over the cast of Rent after a Broadway show. I was so nervous to approach them, tell them how amazing they were and ask to snap a selfie with them. Boy am I glad I did. I may have felt really stupid, and it wasn’t that bad. I mean I just supported their work and gave them a compliment.... The truth is, after making that decision to walk up to them even if I made a fool of myself (maybe it wasn’t them after all ) I began to gather the courage to do more scary things. Like going on a retreat and leaving my kids for the first time ever on purpose, investing in myself, zip lining, having hard conversations, starting to call myself a speaker, working out at 415 am, asking for help, putting myself out there no matter what anyone else says or thinks. Over the last couple months I’ve launched and tested several new programs, workshops, and services. Sometimes I wonder, am I doing this right?! And I remember, there’s no right or wrong, there’s just being, serving and doing. Take the action you need to take you to the next level today.
