Due to the current situation with COVID-19, we are having to postpone Andy McKee’s Musicarium until July 22-26, 2021. Clearly as the world grapples with the current public health issues, we don't want to put anyone in danger or have this wonderful event impacted adversely in any way. Andy, the wonderful cast of musicians and songwriters, as well as the Dreamcatcher Staff are all hugely disappointed by this, but everyone's physical safety and peace of mind are of paramount imp...ortance. So, we'd like to officially announce that Andy McKee’s Musicarium will now be held at the Earthrise Institute in Petaluma CA on July 22-26, 2021. In addition to Andy, the camp will also feature Muriel Anderson, Mike Dawes, Antoine Dufour, Calum Graham, Trevor Gordon Hall, and MICHAEL MANRING. Andy adds; Every year I look forward to the Musicarium. It's always such a pleasure to meet like-minded folks as well as spend time with world class guitarists. But the last thing I would ever want to do is put the campers, artists, or staff at risk in any way. With that in mind, let’s all plan on getting together next year! In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Our time together will come soon enough. I've known Andy McKee since about 2000 or so, when we'd both post on a Michael Hedges fan messageboard. That's where we went to find out the guitar tuning for a... particular song, or how to get some alien sound from an acoustic guitar. It felt like the most niche, geek thing in the history of music, and that online connection thawed the loneliness of being the only fan-of-a-thing you know. Andy was an inspiration to me then as a brilliant musician and a person of quiet but fierce passion, and he has been ever since. My tune Topeka is dedicated to him. Anyway, I'm heading to the USA for the first time ever this summer, thanks to Andy inviting me to teach at his guitar camp Musicarium.
