I love doing these painterly portraits.

With Covid always lurking behind a corner, I'm staying inside, revisiting some past portrait work. I thought I give this distinguished pose a bit more gravitas, so I used Richard Wood's techniques and some Exposure 5 to round out the look.

She was part of my original 50 over 50 campaign to celebrate women of a certain age. She shared how she would like to be photographed and brought select pieces to wear for the shoot. Because of health concerns we had the shoot outdoors in my white tent. The weather was cooperative and so was she. This is one of her favorite shots from that day. I see someone who is strong and knows who she is. Yet she's friendly and approachable.

Revisiting some recent portraits I couldn't help but remark on how lovely this image of Victoria Romano Sexton is. Vibrant and open, friendly and confident. She smiles...I smile.

About 4 years ago a stunning woman came to me for some portrait work work. She brought along with her some incredible wardrobe choices that suited her to a "t". I came across this image today and thought I'd play with the skin a bit. Hers is already perfect, but I learned a new technique and wanted to try it out. Thanks to Richard Wood for the median, blur, high pass treatment. It's great to always keep an open mind and keep learning. Here she is:
