Some people fall in love within a heartbeat and for some it takes a longer time to develop feelings and/or trust. It doesn’t matter how fast things happen, what matters is they know that they’ve found their person. I know this couple, friends of my parents, they were married within a month of meeting each other and they are still together in their mid-60s. They are a match made in heaven and no one doubts that now. When they got married everyone doubted them. When you ...meet your person, you just know it in your heart. Do not let anyone make you believe that x amount of time needs to pass by to justify that relationship. Your heart will know. The perfect -Day ride! By the way this beautiful blonde bombshell has recently started a podcast. @pchdriven Show some on her IG and go listen to the stories of Southern California entrepreneurs about how they’ve built their businesses. ... As an entrepreneur myself, I find it fascinating to learn about others’ struggles and wins because their stories always make me feel like I’m not alone with mine. Being an entrepreneur sometimes can be pretty lonely and I’m not going to lie: it can be scary as well. When you stop doing something as a hobby and start pursuing it as a business, it becomes a whole different ballgame. Are you an entrepreneur too or would you like to become one?

So much beauty in front of my camera this year. This shoot was definitely one of the highlights of 2020. I’m grateful for each and every person who trusted and chose me as their photographer. I always feel huge responsibility in capturing my subjects in the most true form to themselves but also to create something very unique and personalized and something that they can’t get anywhere else. Being in front of the camera is not easy. I’ve read it in a study that more peopl...e would rather choose to go to the dentist than to be photographed. I get it. It’s an awkward place to be, you are vulnerable, and you have no idea what to do with your hands. LOL. That’s why I say it’s responsibility and I never take that lightly. It is my job to make you look and feel comfortable and I will do my absolute best to put you at ease and help you to actually enjoy your session. Tarek and Heather made my job way too easy. Of course they are used to cameras so it was a breeze working with these lovebirds and witnessing their love from up close. @heatherraeyoung @therealtarekelmoussa Photography @andrea_domjan_photography Styling @caitlin_jaymes Makeup @amyrichardsonmakeup Hair styling @hollieberrybeauty Assistance @rkthack Jewelry @thefoundryfinejewelry Dress @macduggal Shot on a Canon R5 with a Canon RF 24-70 mm lens and 1 x Profoto B1X and 1 x Profoto D1 500 Air

I have a serious problem with these two: I just can’t decide between their photos. I might post ALL of them here by time... @heatherraeyoung and @therealtarekelmoussa were amazing to work with. We were fast, productive, there was no stress, no last minute changes, it was just a perfect session. Which photo is your favorite? 1,2,3,4,5,6? All of them? ... Stay tuned for more. This gorgeous beauty @heatherraeyoung channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe. She looks like an actress here and I just love the old Hollywood glam vibes I get from this look. Vision is the ability to see potential in what others overlook. Rick Warren When someone asks me what I do I tell them I’m a portrait photographer but in reality I consider myself a visual artist who uses the tools of professional lighting, photography gear and a photo manipulation softwares (aka Photoshop and Lightroom) to make my visions come alive. This would be just way too long to answer that question. ... Why is having a vision so important in my work? Without a vision you are merely documenting what’s happening in front of your lens. When you have a vision, you’re setting yourself up for the creation of that image you had in mind. You are not just documenting anymore, you are creating something out of what you have available. Let me show you an example. This wildly talented 8 year old girl came to my studio with her mom and I wanted to shoot dramatic images where she is wearing a flowy dress. The mom has brought in a lot of cute dresses but none of them were flowy enough for my idea. So we combined her dress (which you can see on the 2nd photo in it’s original version) with an adult size skirt I had in my studio. They were not the same color but were similar so I knew I could blend them in in Photoshop later. My other issue was the background. I had this simple gray backdrop but I wanted something more dramatic for this image. So I ended up downloading a texture from Adobe Stock and used that on my image to create the mood I imagined. As a final step, I asked her mom to toss that skirt for me a couple times to get some movement in the fabric and voilà. The first and the second image were both shot with the same exact lighting and same exact background. The difference between them is my vision. Playing around with gels was so much fun. This was so out of my comfort zone and what’s tricky about using gels is that they don’t necessarily look as great first as they do after the editing was done. I’m going to record a full tutorial about how I use gels so that I can teach you to achieve the same look. Model, hair & makeup @brittelizabeth2 Assistance @rkthack ... It’s so interesting for me to look back at my work from years ago and see how much my photography has evolved. Not just in technical ways but my style is completely different now too. I used to create with beautiful pastel colors that resulted very beige, nude, monochromatic images. Then in the last 5 years - since I moved to the United States - I have been more and more into color. I’ve never used so much color, let alone colored gels in my photography before. Change alway...s comes with risks but I do think it is necessary. In fact it is very refreshing to reinvent yourself every once in a while. I highly recommend doing something you haven’t before! So here’s an example of something I have never done before. Colors and cellophane. Swipe till the end for BTS or look for them in my story highlights. I get serious Friday night vibes these days when we get towards the end of the week. For a minute I forget that the bars and restaurants are not back to their usual operations yet. Looking at @rachelehannah’s beautiful photos I realize that I miss dressing up and feeling pretty. I miss going out for a fun dinner with friends. I miss celebrating birthdays and friendships the way we used to. On days like this I close my eyes and remember those happy moments knowing that this w...on’t last forever and better times are coming. It could be so much worse! We just need to hang in there a little longer. Until then, on Friday nights you’ll find me somewhere in between my couch and the fridge wearing my yoga pants, my hair in a weird bun and a glass of wine in hand. Cheers to the weekend! Obsessed Latest beauty work featuring the amazing @brittelizabeth2 and some colored gels, which I tried for the first time. At the end of the gallery I’ve included the camera specs and lighting diagram and I’m going to save this in my story highlights as well.... It was so much fun playing around with colors, I’m thinking about doing a full video tutorial about this lighting and editing for my upcoming educational website. I ask these questions from myself every day: What kind of portrait photographer am I? What is my style? And I don’t have an answer. I’ve been a photographer for 12 years and I’ve always created portraits but it’s so hard for me to put my art, my style into words. Do I even have to? Why would I need to fit everything that I do into one or two words? It’s impossible for me to do that. What I can surely tell is how I feel about creating portraits for the people who trust m...e and sit in front of my camera. My ultimate goal is to create portraits that fit my subjects’ lifestyle and who they are. Some people will gravitate more towards classic, simple portraiture and some will want something surprising, bold, different. As an artist I have the tools and skills to make ideas and fantasies become reality. I equally love creating classy, timeless portraiture as well as fashion inspired images and I don’t want to choose between them. What I know for sure is that the art I’m going to create will be timeless. I’m not the one to use heavy filters or coloring on my photos because those trends eventually die out and I want my images to make a stunning impression regardless of when we look at them. Filters don’t belong in my art, I don’t look at the world through no one else’s glasses, but mine. What belongs is the genuine connection I create with each and every client of mine and the love and beauty I want to capture for them so that they can cherish their portraits forever. Here’s a fashion inspired portrait of the gorgeous @rachelehannah in denim head to toe, which is a big classic and I just love these blue hues. Here’s a little empowerment for you ladies: I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men. They are far superior and always have been. Whatever you give a woman, she will make it greater. If you give her sperm, she will give you a baby. If you give her a house, she will give you a home. If you give her groceries, she will give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she will give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her ...any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit! - William Golding, British Novelist, Playwright and Poet, 19111993. #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen Thank you @rkthack for my new profile pictures!

The look of confidence is my absolute favorite look in portrait photography. My goal when I photograph women is to make them feel worthy and confident and help them reconnect with their own beauty. When I see photos like this on the back of my camera, that’s the biggest satisfaction to me. Here I see a beautiful, confident woman who knows her worth. We all deserve to feel that way. ... @andrea_domjan_photography @ Andrea Domjan Photography
