Instead of saying the statement: I can’t afford this, change it into a question: How can I afford this? That is such a small tweak!... But what happens is when you reword it that way, it unlocks the portion of your brain that problem-solves and you start to look for solutions. Negative statements shut down your brain to thinking. Woke up this morning, cleaned the kitchen, made breakfast for Milo and helped him eat it while I sipped on tea and pet the puppies. Afterwards, I had to work on completing a listing agreement, which, in California is like 60 pages long! So I turned my phone on airplane mode, grabbed my laptop and got to it. After 3.5 hours, the listing agreement was complete and out for signatures. I’m feeling good but ancy and drained all at the same time. I grab my phone and turn it off... airplane mode. I received one text canceling a shoot I had been working on for over a week (bummer) then another text from my great friend and partner Phillip Kim with a link to watch a video he’d created yesterday. Naturally, I click the link and next thing I know there’s me looking like a BADA$$ to inspirational words of wisdom.... words of wisdom I strive to live by everyday. Some days are harder then others and today was one of those days. I encourage you to check it out. Maybe you’re feeling depleted or hopeless and need a pick-me-up. Or maybe, like me, you just love listening to positive words of wisdom and believe in the power of manifestation.
