Family, friends, community leaders from West Anaheim and the Magnolia School District gathered in memory of Esther Wallace this morning at Maxwell Park. Her memorial tree was planted just yards away from a tree planted for her husband Raymond years ago. Esther passed away in 2020.

Please join us this Saturday, Sept. 25 at 11 am for a special tree planting at Maxwell Park in honor of Esther Wallace. Esther was a long time Anaheim Beautiful board member and community advocate for her West Anaheim neighborhood. We will gather to remember all that she meant to us individually and as a community. She passed away in early 2020. The tree will be planted on the east side of the park near Rowland Ave. No RSVP is required. Esther is shown here with the Thelma Jordan Scholarship winners from 2016, a program she coordinated on behalf of Anaheim Beautiful.

Our friends at Green Bird are at it again, keeping our City neat and clean. Here is a message from them: Our next Green Bird Neighborhood Cleanup is this Saturday 8/28. Join us at 10am in front of Modern Times-Leisuretown, 555 S. Anaheim Blvd, at Water St. (Remember when the building was the Anaheim Halloween Parade Warehouse? Lots of wonderful memories there.) We'll walk the neighborhood as a group, picking up litter for one hour. We provide gloves, litter grabbers, and han...d sanitizer. Kids are welcome if accompanied by their adults. Everyone is responsible for their own personal safety, as we'll be near traffic and crossing streets at crosswalks. Please bring a bucket or bag (B.Y.O.B.) for collecting litter. We'll have trash bags available but we encourage everyone to bring a reusable bucket. ALSO, face masks are encouraged for this event, because we care about all of you and want everybody to stay extra safe right now. Thank you so much for keeping our hometown clean and for being so AWESOME. What a wonderful tribute to Eileen Ruth Nelson with the gathering of so many family members on Sunday at Pearson Park for the planting of a Coast Live Oak in her memory. The planting was made possible through Anaheim Beautiful's Margie Hilgenfeld Tree Memorial Program in partnership with the City of Anaheim Parks Division.

Anaheim Beautiful was honored to be a part of the planting of a beautiful Tipuana Tipu Tree at Ronald Reagan Park on Saturday in honor of Eldon C. Poole. The family gathered at the planting of this living memorial made possible through the Margie Hilgenfeld Tree Memorial Program.
