Dreaming of bubbles in wide open spaces on this cloud and rainy day. Pro photo tip: bubbles are also good to have on hand for sessions with little ones.
Meet Alyssa! Like a lot of folks, she was a little nervous about getting in front of the camera, but was in need of some fresh headshots. A quick portrait session, doesn't have to be painful like most may think. In fact, Alyssa walked away saying "You made that really easy." I'm not really good at jokes, but I promise mini sessions can be casual and fun.
A few years ago I commented online about how I often see hummingbird when I'm out photographing. In fact, that summer I photographed 4 - 5 weddings in a row where I was greeted with a hummingbird at some quiet moment in the day. Some say when a hummingbird is visiting you, it brings good news. The hummingbird’s hovering meaning is associated with patience. Couldn't we all use more of that right now? As we all pace back and forth in our homes due to covid. ... To this day...It's amazing how often I am outside, in a park, on a trail, the backyard... and I'm still greeted by these little guys. It's not always easy but I do try to take that moment and pause and ask what the universe may be saying to me. Anyone else have little spirit animals that show up routinely or in the most unexpected times? It can't just be me right? See more
Who’s feeling exhausted after the first week of the new year?! and who picked the wrong time to stop drinking?!
I’ve been experimenting with stop motion since the November. This little ditty helped sell out inventory of this tumbler which is pretty cool in my book (since it’s such a simple and short piece). I’ve asked before but asking again... should I show more of my corporate work here? I’m so conflicted feels my audience these days is more fam focused.
There are some mornings I wish I could swaddle myself and get some extra Today is one of them. Haha
Ending the night editing this sweet little session. Mission trails never fails me.
I’m constantly amazed at the number of locations in San Diego that make you forget we live in a big city. And so many of them are just nearby parks. Can you guess this location?
I’ve been trying to sneak in a few headshots of the little ones since traditional school photos may not be an option for everyone this year. And I have to say this is one of my favorites
GIVEAWAY! It’s Giving Tuesday and my heart has been so full this season from the San Diego community and support for small businesses. I’d like to give the gift of photography to a family or couple that has had a particularly challenging year. 1) Please nominate someone you feel this would be a great gift for by emailing me at: [email protected] ... 2) Submit their name(s) and a brief story about why they deserve to have the gift of photography. 3) Deadline is end of day Friday. I’ll announce the winner Monday (unless the winner selects to stay anonymous). Session must be in the San Diego county area, will be about 20 mins and include digital files. Session would take place between January - April 2021. See more
How’s everyone feeling after long holiday weekend? So much editing still to do from the past few weeks but somehow I’m feeling fatigued. Anyone else? (Maybe I need stronger coffee )
Hello friends! Details in the comments. Feel free to tag someone who may be interested. . . . P.s. Very thankful for each and every one of you who has supported small businesses year after year, but especially this year!
Did someone say 9-0? (PA girl at heart) Let’s go #Steelers
I often get asked what’s the best session to book for families with small children. My answer? It depends. Mini sessions are often great for families looking for just a few nice yearly photos done by a professional. One hour sessions are great foe families that want to have slower session, get outdoors and/or explore. ... One hour sessions provide ~20 minutes of posed photos, then candids and a mixture of posed candids. (I may have just made that phrase up). Basically we make plans to walk a trail on your shoot, hang out on the beach, blow bubbles, dance, crack a beer, whatever you like-I’m there to capture it and will occasionally ask can you all look this way and smile for me. One hour sessions are a great way for you all to have some fun natural family moments captured, that are stress free. You’ll also have some beautiful classic portraits as well See more
One of the many pretty little faces I’ve captured this fall season
I've been photographing in San Diego for 15 years. I thought I knew every inch of Balboa Park until... I came across this location. (Thank you and shoutout to Chris Wojdak Photography) It's a magical little desert garden tucked behind the puppet theater!
BFFs 4 Life! #frontporchsession turned into #backyardphotosession
Who’s stoked that it’s the weekend? Finally relaxing after a long week...Sipping some wine tonight, curled up on the couch with my little guy and realizing I’ve photographed around 30 families in the past 2 months but have yet to lock in a family shoot of my own! Which of my colleagues still has sessions available? Drop me a message below or a DM!
I will never grow tired of photographing beautiful couples at sunset cliffs
Happy Veterans Day! How suitable is it that I am editing this sweet little session from a few weeks ago on the USS midway? special thanks to all my clients who serve our country!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love when folks bring a long their fur babies?!? Especially when they are cuties like these little guys It may add a bit more crazy to the session but it’s all worth it for the extra smiles!
Tossing in a few black and white images as I try to wrap up a few galleries for clients tonight! Big thank you to everyone who’s been waiting patiently Fall 2020 has been one of my busiest years ever. I’m so grateful for each and everyone of you! Jill Collins
All the layered moody vibes in this one. Bianca was the sweetest. She's one of the 2020 brides that made the best of her wedding plans; after rebooking her venue twice and still no luck with - they had the sweetest elopement.
Took a stroll on the beach with this lovely couple before the weekend storm rolled in. Big thank you to Bay Park Flowers for the last minute bouquet creation!
Photographed this little peanut yesterday. Who’s feeling the fall vibes?
Things are feeling a little upside down and crazy lately. Would you agree? How’s everyone hanging in there? #2020Election
