Next Year's Economic FORECAST Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) predicts 2021 will have the second-highest origination total of the last 15 years. If mortgage demand continues on this track, there could be a bump in mortgage rates. Other 2021 expectations from MBA include an economic growth rate of 3%, an unemployment rate of 5% by the end of the year, and an increasing 10-year treasury yield to 1.4% by Q4.
