TOMORROW IS THE DAY!! COME DOWN TO THE VFW FOR OUR MONTHLY VETERAN GIVEAWAY! Between 9am & 1pm, we are offering resources for veterans, their dependents, and surviving spouses (ONLY)! Address is 580 Moffatt Blvd... Manteca, CA 95336 Here are some of the items/people we will have on-site: *VA Palo Alto medical van: flu shots for vets and certain eligible dependents. You may also inquire about obtaining your COVID vaccine. (9am to noon) *The Vet Center: assistance with mental health services and other community referrals. (10am to 1pm) *Manteca's Community Emergency Response Team: delivery/distribution of items, & manpower (10am to 1pm) *Besitos Restaurant: food donations (starting @10am) *Bread of Life: non-perishables and fresh drinks (milk/juice) (10am to 1pm) *Dry Diggins Distillery: hand sanitizing products (10am to 1pm) *Armed Forces Recruiting Center: Army, Navy, or Marine service members who have swag to give away (10am to 1pm) ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR A MASK, MAINTAIN CLEAN HANDS, AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES. FOOD PICK-UPS MUST BE CONDUCTED FROM YOUR CAR, WITH MINIMAL CONTACT. YOU WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO STAY IN THE VEHICLE AND POP YOUR TRUNK OR UNLOCK YOUR DOORS. VOLUNTEERS WILL LOAD IT FOR YOU. PROOF OF VETERAN/DEPENDENT STATUS IS REQUIRED. If you do not need food or respurces at this time, then come for someone who does or bring them with you!!! We usually have a surplus and cannot continue receiving donations if our veterans/dependents are not interested in receiving them. If you are interested in the food boxes, but cannot come to pick them up, please call Shay Rosas at (209) 858-8731 and someone from our team can assist with delivering to your door step between the regular hours of distribution. Please be advised that we cannot save the food for a later time. Items and services are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only! We look forward to seeing you, but if we miss you this time, you can always come next time This is a recurring event that will take place on the second Thursday of every month. Upcoming COVID Vaccination Clinic for San Joaquin County Veterans 65+: Saturday/Sunday January 30 - 31, 2021 - 9:30 am 4 pm Pre-Registration is required at ht...tps://sugeni.us/WgZY Clinic is for San Joaquin County Veterans aged 65 and older only. Veteran identification and age verification will be done before entering the site. Only those that have signed up through this service will be admitted into the clinic. Veterans that do not have access to the Internet, may register by calling 2-1-1. San Joaquin County Vaccination eligibility and general information can be found at www.sjready.org. "On behalf of the Board, I want to compliment County and Public Health staff for their herculean efforts on behalf of our citizens to inform them about steps needed to get vaccinated," said Supervisor Tom Patti, Chair of the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. "As the vaccine program finally moves forward, we are glad to see that our veterans, vulnerable populations and people over 65 are a priority. But we now need to turn our laser focus on local businesses, making sure they aren't enduring unnecessary hardships and doing everything in our power to ensure they can reopen, continue operations, and bring back local jobs."
