Yesterday’s Wreaths Across America event at the Gate of Heaven was a success even during Covid-19. Over 1000 wreaths were laid throughout the Cemetery by local scouts, members of our community, veterans and Post 642 members. We will post photos of the volunteers placing American flags and wreaths at the graves of the veterans later this week. Here are a few photos taken today at the veterans section of the cemetery.

Just a reminder that due to the new COVID-19 restrictions that are going into place tonight, the Wreaths Across America Ceremony that was scheduled for 19 December has been cancelled. We WILL STILL be placing wreaths on the Veterans grave site, however there will be no ceremony. I hope you all understand why we had to cancel the ceremony. We will be back again next year even stronger than before! Thanks to all who have donated monies for the purchase of wreaths this year.

While the 15th American Legion Legacy Run was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the need to support the children of America's veterans remains. Congratulations to the class of 2020! Today marks another milestone for the West Point - The U.S. Military Academy cadets, also referred to as the "Long Grey Li...ne." As these young men and women graduate, they transition from cadet life, turning in their cadet rank to receive second lieutenant bars -- officially beginning their officer careers in the Army.
